My second read this year is a book called Mindset by Carol Dweck. I have learnt what kind of mindset works for growth and which one doesn’t. Coincidentally, one of my Mentees (I currently have 6 of them from different parts of the world) wrote an amazing article about the power of the mind…More
I popped in to see my “older” friend at home last Thursday and her daughter said to me, Aunty, you look so earthy and pretty; you are wearing all shades of brown……I said yes, I went for photos earlier and I just wanted to wear browns……..
I love all kinds of brown, not only do they sit well on my skin, they are a perfect shade for this season. The earthy feel to browns remind me of mother nature and the beauty of Winter……..
Someone once wrote, if it puts some pressure on your hair line / edges, it is not worth it. What this means is….. if their is any hair style you wear that could damage your edges, stay clear of it or them. In my honest and humble opinion, this is the wisest thing to do for your hair’s sake.
Its just hair you may say. I know but once the hair follicle on your edges or hair line is damaged, they never grow back. Did you know that?
Today, I bring you few TIPS on HOW to prevent damage to your edges
Hi Everyone, Welcome! Happy New week to you! Today, I am back to black…….wearing a fitted classic pencil skirt and a fitted blazer. With this look, I mean business. I am a modern woman who loves classic pieces because they never go out of style unlike trends that go out of style untimely. …More
Hi Mj, Can you please do a review of brushes that are durable and affordable. XO………”A”
I was sent a request to help look for a set of make up brushes that are affordable but can stand the test of time. And like I always say, getting flawless make up is not about how expensive your products (make up) are BUT how well you can apply your make up + the tools you use.
It is been dry around here but SO COLD! To help me combat the cold while staying chic, I reached for this long leather gloves I got last year. I have always wanted them so when I saw this pair online, I decided to get them…..getting them was a good decision because they are now my go to this Winter.
Whether subtle make up or dramatic one, good “foundation” is the back bone of any kind of make up. To get that flawless looking skin even if you don’t have one, you need a foundation.
However, it is not just enough to get a foundation, the KEY thing to consider when choosing a foundation is if the foundation actually matches your skin tone or would cover the multitude of sin of acne or spots we are trying to cover up……
One of the most REWARDING thing I have enjoyed as a Blogger is that I have built an audience that truly believes in me. I am indeed grateful for this.
At the weekend, I responded to so many emails from all my social networks; Instagram, Facebook and Gmail. I take one hour daily before I go to bed to read and respond to emails. The two that brought tears to my eyes this past weekend were the ones I received from a lady from Nigeria and another from the UK via my Facebook page. I have cut out names to keep identity secured…….please read below:
Last year I tried lots and lots of beauty products and I must say I found / discovered so many great products. While there was the good, there was also the not so good. Today, I will not speak about the misses, I will focus on the hits and so I bring you 7 of my favourites last year and products I would highly recommend.
During this past holidays, I rested more than I would normally do and I feel terrific about it. I also read books and selected the books I wanted to read for the entire year – I have bought 2 of the books already and reading them. I also listened to a lot of podcasts, made videos and did more planning for the year. I also did some faffing around with the boys in our pyjamas, watched movies, ate at “sinful hours” and we had lots of fun in general.
So What did you do? What did you plan for the year? I am curious to know so please share them with me below…
