If you don’t know before now, I love shoes. Now you know 🙂 I am a shoe lover. I have always been. I know my mum would always say to my Sister and I that we are tall already, so we don’t need high heels. I do not only love shoes, I love high heels…..
And what is not to love about shoes – high heels especially. They make you stand tall, walk elegantly and complete your look, even without a purse / bag. The magic in wearing high heels is to ENSURE you choose a heel height that is comfortable for you and ensure they fit well. Today, I will be reviewing the Christian Louboutin Pigalle and Cornielle. This is a requested blog.
Black is not a colour many wear during the warmer months or Summer. Let’s face it, after wearing so much black during the Winter to keep warm, many of us tend to gravitate towards colours – bright, bold and beautiful in the Summer. However, there are exceptions to wearing black in the Summer. With a very well detailed blouse like this, bring on black for Summer….
When I went to Lagos, I was very strategic in the types of pieces I brought with me. I wanted pieces that I could wear stylishly and are practical for the heat as it is always very hot in Nigeria….
This pants / trouser was one of the pieces I brought with me and I wore it twice during my stay. One time to a meeting on a project we were working on with open toe sandals and the other time, to run errands. Today, I am styling this pants for work….
When I shared my graduation pictures on the blog, I mentioned that I was going do the full review of the Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene Speedy 35 because this was the bag I wore on the day. However, I changed my mind for some reason. So, I was left with no choice when one one of you beautiful’s sent me a request to do so via Instagram. Voila, here we are…….
One of the style philosophies I live by is, “it is not how much you pay for an item BUT how well you wear the item”. Today’s look befits that philosophy…..

The last time I did a wedding guest look book was the one I shared HERE. When I got this fabric, the first thing that came to mind for me was to create another look for a wedding guest. The fabric was originally for my girlfriend’s wedding. Even though I couldn’t attend, my portion of the fabric was kept for me – this is kind of tradition whereby all the bride’s friends wear some sort of “uniform” called aso-ebi traditionally. When I received my fabric, I gave my tailor specifications of what I wanted and here we are.
I know there is this notion that a monochromatic look is only black and white. In fact, I can promise you that if you key in monochrome into Google, a lot of images that is black and white will be fed to you. While monochrome can be said to be a minimal look featuring black and white, it can also mean a single colour palette, hence the word “mono” which means SINGLE or a look with limited colours and hues.
For the sake of lovers of African fabrics and styles, today, I bring you some African fabrics and designs I made when I Visited Lagos, Nigeria. This is a try on haul where I shared the fancy modern designs you could create by using fabrics like Ankara and Lace. In Nigeria or in Africa in general, the concept is called “cut and sow”, whereby you buy the fabrics and hand them over to a Designer or Tailor or Dress Maker to make for you. It is known around the world as “made-to measure”. When you hand over your fabrics to the Tailor to make for you, you can either choose your style from a magazine or catalogue or you sketch or create them by yourself. In my own case, I always choose the later and work closely with my Tailor.
It is amazing how things change and how the world can embrace the “impossible”. Once upon a time, the fashion movers and shakers consider fabrics like Ankara too loud, too bold, too colourful and too in your face. But now, the too loud, too bold, too colourful and too in your face African fabrics is / are now “taking over” the fashion scene with people like the Editor in Chief of Vogue – Anna Wintour, Rihanna and Beyonce to mention a few have been spotted wearing Ankara….
Mustard is not quiet yellow, it is however a shade of yellow that is dull or dark. It resembles culinary mustard. So, mustard is the colour of the sauce you get on your favourite street or kiosk hot dog.
Mustard is the perfect alternative to yellow for people who don’t like to wear yellow because it is too bright. Because mustard is a darker shade of yellow, it suits all skin tone. In fact, I can say that you do not need to wear tan before you wear mustard.
This was a floral dress I got last Winter and I can say confidently that it is perfect for going to a new season and I will be doing just that. I also have to say that I have worn it more times than any dresses I own. It is that easy to wear
You are all in for a triple treat today because I have the outfit of the day, styling tips + the luxury fashion brands I bought from Nigeria. On this blog, you would learn, how cropped denim can make you look curvier than you really are and how to prevent that. Before I tell you anything about today’s topic, I would like to encourage you that for you to create the life you want, you can not afford to be scared or afraid. Anyone who wants to create the life they want must be bold and go for what they want irrespective of what anyone says or thinks or the not so favourable circumstance you may have around you. To create the life you want, you must be bold, confident, prayerful BUT courteous and carry yourself with grace and poise putting your best foot forward.
I didn’t share on any of my social media that I was going to “Africa” – Nigeria. However, I shared with the ladies in our private Facebook group that I was going and invited them to come and meet with me if they had the time. A few turned up and I shared that image on my personal Facebook page and to my greatest surprise, many people wanted to “meet with me”, “host me” and “take me to launch”…..
I had the honour of hosting a book launch and also reviewing one of two books in February and this was what I wore. It was a day to night event and the perfect opportunity to spot a sequin shirt.

As I walked to the very front to receive my award on graduation day, I knew all eyes were on me. That sounds boastful BUT truly that was the case. I am a 5 ft 11 – “thin” woman and with my yellow dress, I wore a 5 inches heels which made me 6ft + tall. I was nothing short of a super model…..

I smiled and said, I knew that. We got talking and I told her WHY I choose the dress. Today, I want to share with you why I wore this old dress and some styling TIPS for you….

Other than dresses, I love skirts. They do not only make me feel like a lady, they are versatile enough to pair with a chic blouse for the work place or for going out. For example, go for a halter neck blouse, skirt, heels and a clutch or mini bag and you are good for dinner; go for a clean crisp white shirt with flats or heels and you are good for work and on and on. Skirts are great like that. Today, let’s check out one of my oldie but goodie skirts….
