My second read this year is a book called Mindset by Carol Dweck. I have learnt what kind of mindset works for growth and which one doesn’t. Coincidentally, one of my Mentees (I currently have 6 of them from different parts of the world) wrote an amazing article about the power of the mind…
I popped in to see my “older” friend at home last Thursday and her daughter said to me, Aunty, you look so earthy and pretty; you are wearing all shades of brown……I said yes, I went for photos earlier and I just wanted to wear browns……..
I love all kinds of brown, not only do they sit well on my skin, they are a perfect shade for this season. The earthy feel to browns remind me of mother nature and the beauty of Winter……..
It is been dry around here but SO COLD! To help me combat the cold while staying chic, I reached for this long leather gloves I got last year. I have always wanted them so when I saw this pair online, I decided to get them…..getting them was a good decision because they are now my go to this Winter.
One of the most REWARDING thing I have enjoyed as a Blogger is that I have built an audience that truly believes in me. I am indeed grateful for this.
At the weekend, I responded to so many emails from all my social networks; Instagram, Facebook and Gmail. I take one hour daily before I go to bed to read and respond to emails. The two that brought tears to my eyes this past weekend were the ones I received from a lady from Nigeria and another from the UK via my Facebook page. I have cut out names to keep identity secured…….please read below:
During this past holidays, I rested more than I would normally do and I feel terrific about it. I also read books and selected the books I wanted to read for the entire year – I have bought 2 of the books already and reading them. I also listened to a lot of podcasts, made videos and did more planning for the year. I also did some faffing around with the boys in our pyjamas, watched movies, ate at “sinful hours” and we had lots of fun in general.
So What did you do? What did you plan for the year? I am curious to know so please share them with me below…
I just want to pop in to wish you and yours a happy and prosperous new year and of course, share some new year’s eve look book and my prayer for you….
Happy New Year my beautiful friends!
I do count it a great honour and privilege to be able to influence, inspire and encourage you through Fashion. I am happy indeed that what we set out to do here on the blog is working and also growing into so much more like the “Motifashion” series which is a mix of fashion and motivation and also the “Use What You Have” book to mention a few. I am grateful indeed. I thank you for staying with me on Moj In Touch.
How are you and how did you spend your Christmas? Did your Santa turn up? 🙂
Here’s wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy & Prosperous New Year ahead!
I want to thank you so much for going on this amazing journey with me. 2017 is going to be bigger and better I promise. I hope you stick around 🙂
Honestly, the last thing on my mind for the book launch was what to wear. I wasn’t so particular about what to wear because although it was important, it wasn’t urgent. What was urgent to me were things like; getting the cake sorted, ensuring bags to take away was delivered and most importantly, ensuring books was available for reveal and launch.
While what to wear on the day wasn’t my focus, I knew I wanted to stand out on the day. But wait, what does it mean to stand out?
When it comes to formal work wear, there are limitations to what we can do because of the dress code rules we have to abide by or with. However, “twerking” what we wear to work in an unexpected way can add some fun and creativity to our looks. This is what I mean……..in all honesty, while pantyhose / tights are tagged a “requirement” in some professional scene or setting, wearing fish net tights is not necessarily professional to work. Am I wrong?
So what do you do when you are not sure what you hope for may never come or what do you do when you think Christmas is going to be crap already? Still not sure of……..
If I am been honest, I am not one who thinks you have to buy a new dress or clothe before you slay for the holiday parties. My character hasn’t changed and my for that reason, my name remains…..”The Maximiser”. Yep, even at Christmas 🙂 Honestly I am writing this blog for the sake of those sisters who are limited on cash but still want to look good.
Today, I bring you 5 dresses I didn’t buy for christmas parties but can be worn for Christmas parties.
Yep, it is the last day of November! I can’t believe we have just one more month and the year is gone. I am looking forward to Christmas and all the goodies that come with it :). Hope you are doing well today and settling into the week well.
Today, I bring you the November blog post in review and all you may have missed. To catch up on any of the post, please click on any of the image you want to see more of and it will take you to the entire post. But first……
BOOK UPDATE I can finally say I am an Author! I am excited about this but most importantly, I give all praises back to God. He gave me the inspiration to write this book. For the past two years, I have written motivation for Mondays here on the blog and for me to…
As a “church girl”, I have to say I am a bit conservative in my approach when it comes to styling. However, I do my best to chip in other kinds of styling from time to time; especially for younger audience and to cater for everyone really like the mini dresses I wore HERE & HERE and crop blouses like HERE.
Since I tend to gravitate more towards all things midi, today I bring you some of my favourite midi skirts and dresses for Winter. I hope you find inspiration in the styling. To view any of the looks in full, please click on the image you want to see where you can find outfit details & Styling TIPS. Any questions, please ask below…..
Now, let’s get started………
On Saturday, I spoke at an Enterprise & Careers day in Dublin. There were other speakers from different works of life; 2 Doctors, an amazing lady from Google, a Psychiatrist, a Forensic Accountant and an Amazing Irish Youth Pastor who also happens to be an Author. It was an awesome event and I thoroughly enjoyed been a part of it.
Speaking at this event made me realise one thing and that thing, I will share with you today on Motivation for Monday………
Anytime I dress down (wear casuals), I always look for ways to dress up or accessorise the look to make it look dressy / well put together / chic. Today’s look is an example of dressing down in what is considered street style but chic.
As you can tell from the title, it is a 2 in one post . On this blog, we mix the look book with some motivation. Life is too short to be stylish alone. We all have to learn to dress up and show up to fulfil purpose even if our job is a stylist. I am a Stylist by the way who also happens to be a Motivational Speaker.
Today, I will be sharing with you how to style leggings and on Motivation, the reason WHY I believe New Year’s Resolutions is “crap” and a goal killer. On my journey to self, I changed just one thing, it was my life philosophy. One of such philosophies is the New Year Resolutions…….
Mrs O as she’s fondly called by the media or Mother-in-Chief as was described by Vogue is a woman of class and grace. She is a woman every woman wants to be like. She is powerful, beautiful, poised, intelligent, smart and the out going first lady of the USA amongst so many other things.
Today, I bring you Michelle Obama as the cover girl on the December 2016 Issue of Vogue magazine.
I bought this “bomber jacket” about 7 years ago. Yeah, you heard me right….7 years ago! On the day I got it, I got a black version too. I have worn the black version more than I have worn this one and that is why it looks almost like new. I had it stored away for some reason but decided to bring it out on this day for coffee run……
This look is a typical errand look book and the kind I spot when I do things like school run, drive the boys to places like football, basketball and any of their activities really. Another casual chic school run look book can be found HERE
Happy Wednesday Everyone! Hope you are doing well and your week is going great. The main feature on today’s look is the cape scarf. Capes come in different colours and shapes. They are a gorgeous trend. Even though they have been around for a long time, they are still making fashion statement everywhere. They are also…
I have come to terms that regular length trousers will never be long enough on me no matter how generous they are in length. It is part of my vision to be able to create a line of super long trousers / pants collection in the future for tall women like myself. At least trousers long enough for women with long legs.
Today’s look is another example of a not long enough trousers but “men”, I had to rock it like that 🙂 But seriously, do you have length problems with trousers?
Here in Ireland, it is a bank holiday today. I believe it is the same in other parts of the world that celebrate “Halloween”. Although it is a bank holiday, someone like myself and many other online Entrepreneurs (Bloggers, Vloggers, Writers, Coaches etc) have to work. It is interesting when you live a lap top life because there is always something to do 🙂
Furthermore, even though I have to work, working today is one of those things I consider IMPORTANT BUT NOT URGENT! What do I mean? I will tell you that on Motivation for Monday, please stay with me.
One of the Kardashian sisters, Khloe, is trending right now because of her new denim line called the “Good American”. However, after reading the reviews of the denims, I concluded they are good BUT the price is ridiculously high like her fans says. The price of the denim starts at $197. Expensive right?
You may not be able to buy the Good American denim or jeans because they are so expensive but you can wear your high street ones stylishly. This is exactly what I am going to be sharing with you in this post.
Since it is Autumn, all my looks today are Autumn perfect and ones you can take from day to night. Now let’s have a look at them…….
When you think of Autumn, you think dull colours like black, navy or even purple or warm tone shades of floral like brown or orange. When you think of summer on the other hand, you think delicate, sheer and breathable fabrics. In today’s post, I decided to mix pieces from two seasons……
On Motivation for Monday, I will share with you one principal that will make you get everything you need in life.
