Women empowerment is one of the things I am very passionate. Last weekend, I was invited to speak at an event that was focused on empowering younger women.
It was indeed a honour to go and inspire/share/rob minds and learn from women like me. Whether we like it or not, women are the back bone of the home and the society at large. WOMEN ROCK!!!
For days when I want a look that is clean, fresh, sleek, elegant and almost formal, I wear an ALL WHITE look like this one. This kind of look is what I call “winter white”. See another Winter white here.
I finished my look with nude heels (my favorite) and a silver satin clutch. I believe every woman should have at least a pair of nude heels in their closet, check out this post to know why you need at least one pair of nude heels in your closet.
White is chic! Everyone looks good in white.
You will also notice that I wasn’t wearing any jewelry with this all white look. I decided to go for a minimal look as I find less to be more. This look I must say was inspired by Kerry Washington, a.k.a “Olivia Pope”. The lady does all white like a PRO. She is a gorgeous woman.
Fashion TIP today ::: What does white mean ?
White denotes purity and freshness.
Whether wearing white from head to toe for a special outing like I did or as a contrast against other colours, every one needs white in their closet.
White attracts light to the face or illuminate the face. When your face is lit up or illuminated. You look and feel youthful. If you are not one to highlight under your eyes with heavy concealers, wear white and your face will look as bright.
Although it can be hard to wear white in its purest, there are other shades of white to suit everyone. Think soft white to ivory to cream to ecru.
Wearing white in textured fabric will soften your white. For e.g linen. Linen is soft and airy. May be not for colder months though.
The only difficulty with white is that it can be challenging to keep it clean and fresh looking. Try the approach on the next line………
Anytime I am wearing white like this, I ensure to finish doing my make up, then wash my hands and then dress up in my all white ensemble. If you can, don’t hug anyone with any kind of make up. That may seem impossible but make up can be hard to get off white of any kind.
By the way, I have to mention to you that these pieces (pants & top ) were bought separately. In my eyes, they both look as though they were bought together. I wear them separately too.
When choosing separate pieces you intend to wear together as a set like the one I have on, bring the piece you already own along to the store and try both pieces together. That way you won’t buy what doesn’t work.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I am always happy to see you stop by.
Wishing you a lovely day/week but most importantly, God bless you.
