When I first heard the saying being kind is different from being nice, I thought what is the difference? Even though the former and the latter are almost similar, there is a massive difference between the two….
It is almost like saying the “maxi skirt“ is the same as the “full maxi skirt”. The full maxi skirt and the maxi skirt sound alike but there is a difference between the two as well.
This blog is like a 2-in-1 delivery – I will share the difference between KINDNESS & NICENESS in the motivation first and in Fashion, I will share the difference between maxi skirt and full maxi. Let’s do motivation first – So, what is the difference between kindness and being nice. I will tell you…..
Motivation for Monday ::: The Difference Between Kindness & Niceness
One of the fruits of the spirit is kindness. It is a commandment just as is love. We are supposed to love our neighbours as ourselves. Now let me tell you why being kind is different from being nice.
It is important as humans to be able show kindness by caring for one another, lending a shoulder to lean on when we need to and giving when we can or should. These are things we should all do without thinking about what we would get in return. Help people or give because you want to help them and not because of what you hope to get in return.
Today, I encourage you to be kind to one another. Do what you can to help people without expecting anything back. Give, laugh and love because all these things don’t cost nothing. In fact they make our own lives easier when we give them. A simple compliment is an act of kindness and can turn a gloomy day of someone into a bright day.
However never be afraid to say NO when you need to but show empathy; that is kindness.
Never be afraid to stand up for what you believe in by speaking out but don’t hold a grudge; that is kindness
Give without expecting anything in return; that is kindness.
Being NICE is giving and expecting something in return. Give and expect nothing in return, that is kindness; kindness comes back to us even when we least expect it. Click To Tweet
Today, show an act of kindness; visit that sick neighbour and pray with them or give to the needy or tell someone about your friend’s new business or buy your co-worker some coffee; their favourite etc.
Be kind, it costs nothing and it is one of the best fruits of the spirit everyone should have.
Fashion TIP today ::: What is the difference between a Full Maxi Skirt & Maxi Skirt
A full maxi skirt as the name implies is full and long. It is supposed to be full, free flowing, long and must reach the ankle or below the ankle. The best full maxi’s are the ones that hit the floor even after wearing your 5 inch heels.
A maxi skirt on the other hand is not necessarily full. All it has to look like to be maxi is for it to be long and must reach the ankle or below the ankle.
You can see there is a difference between the full maxi and just the ordinary maxi. Now, the photo below with black skirt is a Maxi Skirt….
Different Ways to Wear Your Full Maxi
For my look today, I paired my multicoloured full maxi with an off the shoulder blouse and finished my look with minimal heels. The “Off the shoulders” trend is still very big at the moment, join in if you want to. On a budget? You can learn how to improvise your own off the shoulder HERE
So here’s a few way you can wear your full maxi skirt
1, Follow my lead and do as I did; maxi skirt and off the shoulder blouse or basic tee or a classic shirt.
2, Pair your maxi with spagetti strap or crop top.
3, Pair yours with a blazer
4, Wear your maxi skirt as a dress if the waist is elasticated etc.
The full maxi skirt is fun to wear this summer. And it is one of those style pieces you could have for a long time in your closet. The one I have on is one of the oldest pieces in my closet and NO, I won’t be getting rid of it. It is as new as it was since I got it; made from 100% chiffon silk; it is worth every penny I paid for it.
Have fun styling you own maxi skirt and don’t forget to dance in the wind or twirl when you do, it is fun. One more thing, be kind to one another.
I sincerely want to thank you for stopping by today. I am always very happy to see you stop by. And I do hope you enjoyed the styling. Please let me know in the comments below.
Wishing you an amazing day filled with kindness.
Much Love, Mojisola
