If possible, I would wear white everyday!
That may sound impossible to some but to me, white is always my go to whether dressed up like my look today or dressed down.
Not only does it work magic on my kind of skin but white generally attracts light to the face or illuminates the face. When the face is illuminated, you look fresh, youthful and awake.
For this look, I wanted to create a “glamourous look” with classic colours; black and white with a dash of red.
I styled the look in 2 ways. One I would consider to fancy occasions like weddings, women’s day at the races etc and the other to go have a meal with the hubby.
The typical me would wear bold red lips with this kind of look but I decided on nude just because 🙂
By the way, gone are the days when the only one allowed white at a wedding is the bride. In this fashion forward and modern age, wedding dress codes include wearing whites. Have you ever been invited to a wedding where the dress code is white?
The look with the hat and tights was the one I wore as a wedding guest the other day. Instead of the Fedora hat, I wore a fascinator.
I love the delicate nature of this pleated check midi dress. It is very feminine and moves very softly.
Since the dress is lined half way, I decided to pair this first look with some tights. This is an option I would suggest for the woman who hates to show some skin.
This pairing reminds me of Princess Diana. She was always glamourous with her tights paired with heels. Though she was a Princess, she was always understatedly sexy. Diana was one woman who had a say in what she wore. I encourage all woman to have a say in what they wear even when they work with a stylist.
Let your stylist suggest to you but always have your say!
And the other paring……….
Fashion TIP today :::: Every body can wear white !
White denotes purity and freshness.
White attracts light to the face or illuminates the face. When your face is lit up or illuminated. You look and feel youthful. If you are not one to highlight under your eyes with heavy concealers, wear white and your face will look as bright.
A lot of people say that white suits only people with darker skin tone. I beg to differ because white suits every body. Although white can be hard to wear in its purest, there are other shades of white to suit everyone.
There are different shades of whites. This one I have on is “snow white” but there are other kinds of white that are not as white as this. Think “off white”, Ivory or ecru. Both “off whites” will look nice on paler skin tone.
Wearing white in textured fabric will soften your white. For e.g linen. Linen is soft and airy. May be not for colder months though.
The only difficulty with white is that it can be challenging to keep it clean and fresh looking. Try the approach on the next line………
Anytime I am wearing white like this, I ensure to finish doing my make up, then wash my hands and then dress up in my all white ensemble. If you can, don’t hug anyone with any kind of make up. That may seem impossible but make up can be hard to get off white of any kind.
And like I said earlier, white attracts light to the face and makes you look super youthful.
Now, take caution. While white is good for attracting light to the face, it can also exaggerate things. For e.g if you have a big rear / butt you are conscious of, wearing white could make your rear look bigger.
Check my post on another all white look or what I consider MONOCHROMATIC LOOK
