How will it make you feel if you take a bold step and go after the life you want? How would it make you feel if after thinking about something, you just don’t stop there but go ahead and make that thing happen for yourself? How excited would it be for you if right before your very eyes, what you have always dreamed about comes to pass? For example, pass that exam, launch that business, move to another city, ask that girl or boy out or whatever it is it you want? How would that make you feel?
Today on Motivation for Monday, I am writing to encourage you on what I call, “Audacity to Go After Your Dreams”
One of my greatest inspiration is Barack Obama. I have never met him and if I am totally honest, it would be my honour to meet him someday and if I did, here is what I would tell him: “you have been a great influence in my life since the day I listened to your speech called, “Audacity of Hope”.
Allow me share a story with you. The very first time Barack Obama was presented to the world was the day he gave that Speech on “Audacity of Hope” in 2008. Many Scholars (Professors, Political Analysts) described that moment as the defining moment for him to become the president of the USA. Obama on the day told his story and wrapped it in the all American Story. In the speech he reiterated (repeated, laid emphasis) many things to ensure that his message was clear, concise and convincing. In about 8 -16 minutes, he changed his live and moulded his future by giving that speech.
I believe I am a good speaker. Not quiet in the league of the Obama’s of this world but I do know that I love to tell stories to inspire, encourage and to motivate. One of the reasons why I also love Obama is because of his ability to speak – to speak to a large crowd and audience. And if there is anyone we can relate with , they influence us somehow. Isn’t that right?
Why did I take you on this Obama tale, it is because when I was meditating on how I wanted to inspire you today, the only thing I could think about was that speech made in 2008 by Obama called, “The Audacity of Hope”
Today, I am writing to you to have audacity. When you do, you become not only hopeful, but fearless, courageous, brave and willing to be who you truly want to be.
What Does it Mean to Have Audacity?
To have audacity means to have the willingness to take bold risks. Audacity can be described with words like: boldness, daring, fearlessness, bravery, courage, courageous, heroism and more….. Let’s consider somethings that may happen when you have to audacity to go after your dreams
A Risk Taker is Always Hopeful – You Can Build Faith by Trying
A lot of times when we decide to take a risk, in most cases, we do not know what may happen or the implication of taking that risk. However, each time we make the move to take a risk to do something good in our lives, we become hopeful and we hope not to fail. Hope is faith and the more we hope, the more we build our muscle of faith and continue to hope that whatever it is we are doing don’t fail. When you have audacity – you have that boldness to try, to hope, to build faith and to hold on till what you hope to achieve comes to pass.
Listen, those who don’t try don’t achieve and those who don’t hope can’t build faith. Try, when you do, you are gradually taking the step to have the audacity to go after your dreams.
You Won’t Know If Things Would Work Out If you Don’t Try
People who don’t have audacity don’t take chances. They play safe and never think outside of the box. Unfortunately, if we do not try anything whether new, we never can tell if we would succeed at it if we don’t try. So, for example, if you have always wanted to start a blog, if you do not try it out, you would never know if it would work out or not. Another example, if you have always wanted to sky-dive, if you don’t try, you would never know how challenging it is – please work with a professional if trying out the later.
See, in life, we must all have that boldness – the audacity to try. Until we try, we would never know if things would work out.
Help Comes With Audacity
I know you may have heard the saying that nobody succeeds on their own. And believe me, this is in all areas of life – spiritually, maritally, career wise and so many other areas of life.
You see, when you take the bold step to try anything, you would be very surprised that help would come. I have experienced it so many times, each time I make up my mind to do something I have always wanted to do, I have the boldness, courage and audacity to seek help where necessary every time.
You would be surprised to know that people are always willing to help people who try, who dare to dream and who want to become more. Not everyone would help or support you but there are people out there who are willing to “pick you up when you lift up your arms”.
Have that audacity to believe and to try. Help comes from above (God, Almighty) and from men whom we meet divinely or one directed to our path.

Friends, I want to encourage you today to have that audacity to dream big and to act on those dreams and be who you have always wanted to be. That person who wants more out of life. That person who wants to fulfil their potential and that person who would look back and say, thank God, I dared to believe, I dared to strive and I dared to achieve.
I believe in me and the power of my dreams. Guess what, I believe in you too. So, dare to have that audacity to not only dream but to go after those dreams.
Please do let me know your thoughts in the comments and please share this post with you friends if you found it helpful.
All the very best and God bless and honour you as you try.
