A dream written down with a date becomes a goal. A goal broken down into steps becomes a plan and a plan backed by action makes that dream come true.
Today, I want to share with you why you must not just dream but why you must plan and then take action…..
Every body who has ever succeeded had a dream. I like the way Jim Rohn puts it. He said, “nobody succeeds and then looks back and says, how did I get here”. This simply means NOBODY succeeds by mistake or by accident. Nobody! Everybody that has ever succeeded always do so deliberately. They have a plan, strategy to follow and then they succeed, sometimes, after so many failures.
My Brother in Law, on the day of my book launch, Use What You Have gave a powerful motivational speech from a professional angle and his speech I am sure will linger in the minds and heads of everyone present for a very long time or even forever. Out of the many things he said on that day, he used the word DREAM. To dream is FREE, he said. You can fantasise (imagine) things and sincerely, they can come true if truly you can make it a reality if you so wish.
For example, you can dream of being a Published Author. This is just a fantasy but to be a published Author, you must write and publish a book. You may just be day-dreaming about it BUT you must move and work on it to be it. To be able to achieve anything, be it a just a fantasy or day-dream, you must
1, Learn to write what you are dreaming about down.
This is the first step to achieve anything. Research shows that when you write what you are thinking about down, you are likely to follow through on that thing. If you are just thinking about it in your head, after a while, you stop thinking about it and then you forget all about it. Write it down. This is also scriptural. The scripture commands us to write the vision down and make it plain on paper / tablet. Place this where you can see it everyday, this prompts you to act to take action.
2, So How Do You Achieve it?
It is one thing to write it down, it is another to write it down into steps. Write down your step by step guide to achieving your goal. For example, if you are going grocery shopping and you make a list, you get to the store, shop from your list and then go home. On the other hand, if you go to the shop without a list, you buy whatever catches your attention, you waste time and you waste money. The former saves you money, time and effort, the latter, not the best option.
So when it comes to achieving anything. Break done the plans, write a step by step guide and follow through. Be Disciplined, Follow Through!
3, Take Action
Doers are the winners. Don’t just plan, take action. If you love someone, show it by action, verbally and in every way you can. If you want to achieve something, it is like a love language, you must act it, give it your all and grow in love.
To achieve any goal, you must not only write it down, you must break down the plan and must take action. Spend everyday of your life working on who you want to be. You can do it. Keep dreaming. Keep Believing. Keep Achieving.
My prayer for you today is that God will give you dreams and visions and the strength and wisdom to bring that dream to fruition. Amen.
I want to thank you so much for stopping by today and for reading. I hope you are inspired to keep dreaming, dreaming is FREE but most importantly, keep doing what you have to do to achieve those dreams.
Thanks again for letting be your Cheerleader.
Much Love, Mojisola
