What Do You Want? (Motivation)

So many times, I have come across many people who come to me to help them because they do not know what they should be doing? They say things like: “Should I be doing this or that” or “go this way or that way”?  By God’s grace I have been able to help many based on what my own coach showed me many years ago…..

So, when I get this question of “help me”, I still end up having to ask, “What do you want” because sincerely, if I do not know what you need help with, I can’t help you. That is the truth!  And nobody can help you if you do not know what you want. This is the honest truth. It is okay not to be sure or be clear about what you want but you MUST have an idea of what is it you want.

Today on Motivation for Monday, I will be sharing TIPS on how to know what you want so you can live a meaningful, fulfilling and purposeful life.

Audacity to Go After Your Dreams (Motivation)

3How will it make you feel if you take a bold step and go after the life you want? How would it make you feel if after thinking about something, you just don’t stop there but go ahead and make that thing happen for yourself? How excited would it be for you if right before your very eyes, what you have always dreamed of comes to pass? For example, pass that exam, launch that business, move to another city, ask that girl or boy out or whatever it is it you want? How would that make you feel?

Today on Motivation for Monday, I am writing to encourage you on what I call, “Audacity to Go After Your Dreams”

Your Mind, Your Body, Your Soul (Motivation)

The mind, the body and soul are 3 interlinked parts. One does not function without the other. When all 3 are cared for, we live a more fulfilling life and are happier. See, out of your mind is where everything starts – whether good or bad. And your body is the carrier of all things that comes from your mind and then your soul is the receiver of what your mind and body say.

Today, on motivation for Monday, I am writing to encourage you on the importance of caring for the mind, the body and the soul. Let’s check it out……….

Fixed Goal with Flexible Path (Motivation for Monday)

A couple of months ago, I shared a blog titled FOCUS where I encouraged you to Follow One Course Until Successful. Let’s check out today’s motivation for Monday

ANKARA Print Lookbook – The Print that is Taking Over the World

The Ankara print comes in different patterns, designs, colours and texture. They are very popular in West Africa and more common amongst the Yorubas. However, it is important to know that the most popular tribes in Nigeria (igbo, hausa and yoruba) all wear the Ankara print. They are also popular amongst many other African countries but some prints are more peculiar to those countries like the Kente print which is very popular in Ghana.

Ankara is not only limited to Africans in Africa but many Africans in diaspora including Black Americans have embraced the print. The likes of Beyonce, Rihanna and Anna Wintour have been seen wearing the Ankara print.

What I Wore to a Nigerian Wedding + How to Avoid a Bad Tailoring Experience In Lagos

Being a Yoruba-Nigerian, weddings are an exceptionally important part of our Culture. Firstly, in the Yoruba culture, when there is a wedding, most of the time, the family hosting the wedding and or their friends choose what is called aso-ebi (some sort of “uniform” for the occasion). Secondly, a Yoruba-Nigerian do not just attend weddings, we attend them in grand style. Thirdly, we have so much fun at Nigerian weddings (in general) with so much to eat, drink and great music to dance to.

I have been in Lagos for my Brother-in law’s daughter’s wedding and this is one of the outfits I wore for the ceremony. Yep, in this post, I will be sharing the details of the look with you and I will also be sharing how to avoid a bad tailoring experience with you….

By the way, I have more wedding outfit posts coming your way but for starters, do check out:

You Are Not What You’ve Been Through (Motivation for Monday)

When we go through challenges in life, a lot of us tend not to see ourselves beyond where we are. We blame ourselves, we belittle ourselves and a lot of times, a lot of us just stay down with no plan of getting up again from our setbacks. Staying down is easy because just anyone can stay down. However, it takes boldness, courage, determination and self-motivation to rise again after a set back. We have to understand that, the only way we can rise again after a setback is that we must do whatever it takes to rise again. Today on motivation for Monday, I am writing to encourage you to see yourself beyond where you are now and what you may have gone through.

How to Take Measurements & Determine Your Body Type

One of the attendees of my previous Masterclasses told me one of the reasons she couldn’t wear nice clothes is because she doesn’t understand or know her body. I told her she recognises the problem already and then we took up the challenge from there and together we were able to solve all her problems.

For any women to dress well, she has to understand the body she is in. She has to understand her silhouette, body type and proportions and then go ahead to start buying clothes that works.
