A WORK LOOK BOOK | HOW TO LOOK GOOD TO WORK EVERYDAY

Hi Everyone, Welcome! Hope you are having a good week so far.

A lot of women find it hard to look good to work everyday. Many try to look well on a Monday and for the rest of the week they struggle. Is this you? If you answer is yes or you need a little help with how to look good to work everyday, this post is for you, so keep reading.

MY ADVISE IS
1, buy basics: tee shirts, plain blouses etc. Every store has a section for them.

2, mix and match your pieces: e.g a plain tee with skirt/trouser, add blazer plus heels.Then change pieces again for next time.

3,Don’t be afraid to repeat your pieces: why not? Care less about others, focus on you.

4,Plan your outfit: You look well put together when you plan, dressing up is just like any other thing, the more you try the better you become. You can check my article on how to shop happy and save money here.

5, Wear whatever makes you happy and comfortable.

The fact that you work in a corporate environment does not mean 3piece trouser suit/skirt suit. Remember when you dress well, you feel comfortable/confident. Well, maybe I am the only one who feels that way. Let me know if you feel the way I feel.

From the pictures below, you’d notice that I  have selected pieces with detail on either of the top or the bottom. That is my little secret for keeping the wardrobe fun and lively. I ensured to balance every look out. If the bottom is busy, I keep the top simple and vice versa. This pieces should  be sufficient through Monday to Friday and even for the weekend.

Here’s my few selection below……..

SKIRTS: does not have to be plain and straight. Add volume, texture and pattern. It is allowed in a corporate environment. The colors has to be appropriate though.

TROUSERS/DENIM: ensure it is very well fitted, not tight. Chose from tapered, bootcut, straight leg, wide leg. I am a tall girl, I gravitate towards tapered leg because I find my length easily. Ensure the length is perfect for heels sake.Chose a dark wash denim. No tears or rips. Remember it’s for work. Explore at the weekends, I do that too.

TOPS: chose different types. I love white. Chose whatever colours and patterns you like. Ensure they work well with your bottoms/trousers/pants.

BLAZERS: In most cases you only need 1 fitted/structured one that can work with everything in your closet. I always recommend you spend a little bit on your outerwear/blazer so they can last a long time especially if you have just one. Think of them as an investment piece.

SHOES: chose comfortable heels.i.e the heels you can walk on. You do not need loads, a well fitted and comfortable pair is enough for a start.

WORK BAG: Just like the blazer/jacket, start with 1 solid one.
