When it comes to day time or work outfit, I always look for a ways to “jazz up” or “spice up” my look. I look for statement blouses with ruffles, frills or some kinds of details. And when it comes to skirts, I look for skirts with peek-a- boo details like the pleat on my skirt today.
For my look today, I paired my khaki and black skirt with a black high neck blouse and finished my look with a pair of cut out suede pumps. To keep me nice and warm, I wore my oversized collared long coat.
For the sake of the people who missed my basic colour theory featuring complimentary colours, I shared the details of my skin coloured tights made specifically for darker skin tone. I was also wearing those tights/ panty hose with this look.
The panty hose or tights by the way are from Pendeza. A lot of you have been sending me messages asking about them.
Fashion TIP today ::: Day to Night Look !
When taking your look from day to night, simple accessories and details can transition your day look into a night look. For example, the first time I wore this skirt for an evening outing, I paired it with a silk blouse. Silk is soft, feminine and romantic. I then accessorised with an oversized clutch and a pair of detailed sandals with chunky heels. Those simple pieces were my transitional pieces from day to night.
See photo below and full details of the look is on KHAKI & PLEAT
And for my pairing today which is a day time / work style, I paired it with a blouse that is “not loud” or “sexy”, one that only drew attention to my framed face. YEP, turtle neck is perfect for framing your face. See my post on 7 ways to frame or accentuate your face.
I am a believer of maximising and I love sharing different pairings with you to give you options. The last time I wore this skirt like I mentioned above, I wore it out in the evening and the picture below shows how I paired it.
Although the same colour palette, the style pieces I used were different.
I hope you like the pairing today and I hope you found my fashion TIP helpful. I would love to hear from you, let me know what you think. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask me below.

Thank you gorgeous Stella. Cheers.
Beautiful look, Moji. As for this skirt of yours, I’m still obsessed with it. I’m all about the unique twists to basics and i really want to find more of them. You guys in the UK and Ireland are soooo lucky!!! You have all the shops. Hmph.
Thank you for reading Sunshine. That’s the things with our side, not all the shops are there. Have you tried shopping on ASOS? They ship to most part of the world.
Take care.
