Happy Friday Lovelies ! Hope you are excited about the weekend.
The Ankara print is one of the most popular fabrics in Africa. The print range from very high end to high street/affordable.
Right now, I can boldly say that the Ankara print is taking over the fashion scene all over the world. More and more designers are beginning to embrace Africa and what it has to offer as regards prints and fabrics.
Stella Jean, Zara and Asos are few of the brands that have made the Ankara print into master pieces. Rihanna broke the internet with the Stella Jean look she wore to the white house a couple of months back. I will post that look on my Instagram
Designers in Nigeria who make Ankara fabrics into master pieces and wearable styles include Jewel by Lisa, Tiffany Amber etc. There are so many other designers/tailors who are fantastic at their creativity and tailoring with the Ankara.
This piece I have on was designed and made by me with the help on my tailor. How did we do?
Creating this look, I thought of a well fitted and tailored look which would be appropriate for a work environment. In Nigeria, it is acceptable to wear clothes like this on CASUAL FRIDAYS instead of denims.
The good thing about this look is that you can wear both pieces as separates.
So tell me, would you wear the Ankara Print? I would love to know please. Let me know in the comments below
And For styling ! Since the fabric is bright and beautiful already (if I do say so myself), I added some gold accessories for accent. I was wearing a gold cuff, orange minimal sandals with gold heels and gold belt.
By the way, the photos was taken a while back saved for this season. Just thought to let you know.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. Wishing you a fantastic and restful weekend.
Much Love, Mojisola.
