On the blog I shared yesterday here, I mentioned I was going to answer do some question and answer today. Here are some of the questions I was sent. I hope to do more of this from time to time.
Question 1 ::: Tummy Fat
Hi Moji, I have been thoroughly inspired by your blog ( your writing style), beauty tips and fashion tips. I do have a question, how do you get your mid section completely flat.
I have always been slim and still am after two kids and though my tummy is almost back to paper flat, there’s still that little pooch, that needs disappearing. I am a gym lover and watch my food quite fairly:). Just wondering if there are any body tips you can share please other than…..giving it time:) T.O
MJ Says
Hi T, Thank you for your message.
I know the tummy fat is about the hardest bit to loose but targeted exercise at the tummy will help burn belly fat. They are called abdominals. They are specifically targeted at the tummy. Exercise like sit ups combined with specific diets that is rich in veggies, protein and less carbs would help a lot. I do some running too because I feel light and smart when I run.
Running works the whole body and you will feel the pain also on the tummy if it is a long run or long brisk walk. Although, I am not a professional fitness coach or trainer but that is what I do.
I do know also that your state of mind helps generally with weight loose. Your sleeping pattern has a lot to do with weight loose too. If you sleep early, you are less likely to be snacking at night which could cause weight gain especially on the waist line. Please consult a professional fitness coach for more help. Hope that helps.
Question 2 :::Natural Hair
Moji, bo ni (how are you?) Pls I need ur professional advice, I’ve gone natural with my hair and I just removed the croquet hair I did a while ago and what shampoo and conditioner do u think I can use. I’ve read a lot online but I just think u’ll know better. Thanks. FK
MJ Says
Hi Fk, Thank you for your message. And I am doing well. Hope you are too. My best advice is to consult natural hair professionals. What they do is that they test your hair texture(4c and other texture for example) then they advise you products that are suitable based on your hair type. Using any random products may not be the best if you want long and healthy hair or at least growth on your hair. If you are in America, this service is not hard to find. You can also check out My Naturals Sisters out on YouTube, they do a lot of TIPS on natural hair. That is their speciality or Naptural85 on YouTube. I am sorry I couldn’t recommend any products to you specifically because what works for a particular hair texture may not work for the other.
Hope that gives you an idea of steps to follow.
Fan Mail (this made me smile, thank you)
Hello Moji, I just want to say thank you for all the useful tips you give on your blog. They always come in handy. I will like to meet you in person if possible as I live in Dublin as well. Thank you. AA
Question 3 ::: New Mums
Do you have any advise for New Mums? FA (this question came from the face Book live Chat I had 2 days ago)
MJ Says
Thank you for your question FA. As a mum myself, I know how hurriedly we want to be able to fit into the clothes we used to wear before we got pregnant. In all honesty, it will take time for you to get your body back. Give it time and spend quality time with you baby. Rest well, eat well, if you are breast feeding, do it religiously; it helps to loose pregnancy weight naturally and has been proven, I experienced it when I was breast feeding.
As for what you can do as regards clothing, the clothes you wore when you were pregnant will still be handy after you have the baby. Use them till you loose a little bit of weight and more so, you won’t be going back to work immediately so don’t spend too much on clothes. If you have to buy clothes at all, don’t invest in so much. Buy few bits that you can use till you loose all the baby weight. Wrap dresses are perfect and easy for breast feeding and they are adjustable as you continue to loose weight. Shirts are easy for breastfeeding too. You can pair your shirts with any denims / pants that fit. Diane Von Fursteberg do great wrap dresses (high end) and Top shop do great collection too (high street). I hope that helps. See below for a maternity look book I did. You will find more details & advise for mums to be and new mums there…..

Question 4 ::: Razor Bumps
I dislike razor and thank goodness the cream works perfectly for me. I used razor recently after over 10 years and I developed bumps around my bikini area. Thank God the bumps disappeared later but bump scars from years ago still remains. Now you know why I stay away from razors. Lol! Can you do a post on how to lighten and get rid of bump scars from razor around the bikini area? If there is a solution to this problem I will love you forever. S.
MJ Says
Thank you for your message. I recently wrote a blog on the 2 EASY WAYS TO AVOID RASHES & BUMPS and in that post, I shared details of how best to prevent razor bumps. Please click on the title of the post to read all about it. Also when it comes to scar, blemish, bump residue on the skin, sometimes, they fade off over time. The most subtle treatment I can recommend is to use Bio Oil, I use this for all skin trouble from bumps, stretch marks, mosquito bites etc.
Traditionally, I know people use lemon to lighten and clear the skin of bumps. Just be careful that the concentration is not too much. Maybe do a mixture with just a little bit of water and try morning and night for a while to see how you get on.
Hope that helps.
Question 5 ::: BLEEDING GUM
Hi Moji, please share as anonymous. I have this bleeding every time I brush my teeth and it is going on for some time now. Can you do recommend anything. LR
MJ Says
Hi LR, thank you for your message. I totally understand what you mean, I have been there too. Good news! I have a blog on HOW I GOT RID OF MY BLEEDING GUM. Please free to have a look. I explained everything you need to know with scientific back up. I hope that help.
I do hope I was able to answer some of your questions. I will do my best to do this from time to time. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave them in the comments below. I have some questions in line for the near future.
Thank you so much for sending your questions and thank you so much for reading today. Do have an amazing day filled with love and light.
