Colour for me sets an ambience of elegance, warmth and tranquility. I also gravitate towards colour when I want to feel very youthful and playful.
Colours make my mood light, lifted and they make me feel confident. Depending on the colour, I feel very sexy when wearing bold colours like the one I wore on New Year’s eve.
For today’s look, I decided to play with Analogous colours.
I wore this textured yellow, almost neon skater skirt and a textured bell sleeve blouse. To add some more colour to the look and to balance my proportions, I wore a gem detailed belt which nicely cinched in my waist and balanced my proportions. And to finish my look, I wore a nude pair of heels which automatically tones down the look and a purple clutch which is complementary to the yellow skirt.
Fashion TIP today ::: Introduction to Colour Theory
Primary Colours : can not be mixed or formed by the mix of any other colours. They are red, blue and yellow. All other colours are derived from these hues.
Secondary Colours : they are the colours formed from primary colours. They are green, purple and orange. In this look here, I experimented with 2 secondary colours.
Tertiary Colours : these are colours formed by mixing a primary colour and a secondary colour. That is why the hue are named two word name e.g blue-green, yellow-orange etc.
Complementary colours : are colours that sit opposite each other on the colour wheel. Yellow and purple are both secondary colours that create opposing colours that create maximum contrast and stability. See another e.g in a this casual but glam look.
Analogous colours are 3 colours that sit side by side on a 12 chart colour wheel with one predominating one. e.g green, yellow and green.
Hues : is the quality of colour determine by its dominant wavelength. Blue, green, Orange and Yellow has a hue, a colour that is true.
Like I mentioned in my ALL BLACK article, black is the only colour that does not have a hue.
I will continue the colour theory soon…..please stay tuned!
Motivation for Monday !
A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve and not the desire to beat others…..Ayn Rand.
It is when we feel like we are in a competition with others that we begin to do everything to outdo them. We unknowingly compete and do not show support or respect what they do.
Instead of having the desire to beat others, it is better to focus on your own strength. It is when we focus on our own strength that we can achieve our goals and be who and where we want to be.
Trust your own journey, you will succeed!
This blog is my introduction to the colour theory on Moj in Touch. I will continue more on colour very soon. I hope you find it helpful.

You really are the queen of color-blocking! Love how you played with bold and striking analogous colors that balance each other really well here. And great call on the belt that add an even more Vogue-like spin to this look! xo~ Lena

Thank you very much Stella. XX
Yummy look girlie. When I look at this ensemble my eyes are running all over the piece. I’m like a kid in a toy store…… I like that, I want that, I need that. Lol.
The knit top…. rich jewel tone, fine gauge knit & poetically dramatic sleeves in the best way. An ornate belt that dazzles but is also an understated neutral. The skirt, texture, color, cross-switch direction pattern with movement. Shoes……divalicious! Should I mention how you schooled us on primary colors? Lol, oops, I guess I did.
2016, you kicked it off with a bang! Looking hot and you’re not even showing skin.
