7 OUTFITS YOU CAN WEAR ON CASUAL FRIDAYS (Corporate World)

In many corporate organisations, they have dress code. While dress code in one corporate organisation is to be formal from Monday to Friday, in another corporate organisation, dress code could be to be formal from Monday to Thursday and then dress down on Friday. If you work in an organisation where your dress code is the latter, here are a few Casual Friday Outfits you could try.

What Does Casual Friday Mean in a Corporate World?

Casual Friday in a corporate world means you can dress “informal”. The word is informal but the look has to be presentable, neat, well put together and appropriate for the work place.

Dressing down in a corporate organisation does not mean wearing over the top distressed clothing (jeans) or revealing clothing you would wear to a night club (“mini skirt”, transparent blouse etc). To be dressed down in a corporate organisation means you have to present yourself in such a way that if an impromptu formal meeting or clients come up, you can still attend to it or them.

Dressing inappropriately in a corporate organisation is like waking up a sleeping cat. You will draw unnecessary attention to yourself; unfortunately in a bad way. It is important to dress appropriately so your dress code is not a reason to be called into the inner room for warning or even losing your job.

Here are a few examples of what you could wear in a corporate world casual Fridays…….

1, Denim, Shirt & Heels

Denim, shirt and heels are all wardrobe essentials that you can mix and match. A dark wash denim is perfect for the corporate work place with a clean crisp shirt. Although this look was styled with heels, you can opt for flats with this kind of look. As always, it is important to choose heels at your comfort level at all times especially in the work place so you do not trip / fall face down. This look is clean, polished and will be perfect for the Clerk as well as the Boss. 

2, Shirt Dress & Flats

I love shirt dresses for work. They are a perfect alternative to the Little Black Dress. For a laid back, relaxed but a well put together casual Friday in a corporate work environment, a shirt dress with flats is a win. If after work you want to “turn up”(go out for drinks, meal, party etc) you can dress up this dress shirt like I did HERE

3, Mildly Ripped Denim & Peplum

I mentioned above that your casual Friday look in a the corporate world has to be presentable and smart. If you are one who wants to take edgy to the corporate world, you can wear a mildly ripped denim with peplum. Peplum is perfect for accentuating your figure. You can also opt for flat if you don’t do heels.

For Colder Months (Fall / Winter)

Even though the offices are heated up or kept warm in the Winter, it can get cold while sitting by your desk all day so it is important to ensure to keep warm so as not to catch a cold. Here are a few example of what you could wear on in the Winter Casual Friday….

4, Bold Coloured Blazer & Denim

Winter months can be dull and dingy. To brighten up your look while still keeping warm, wear a bold blazer with your denim. You can go for denim on denim like I did on this look or you can pair your own whichever way you fancy. Also feel free to throw on some flats if heels are not for you. 

5, Basic Tee & Long Cardigan

Basic tees can be as dressy as you want them to be. They can also be as casual as you want them to be. For colder month in a corporate work place, you can pair your basic tee with denim and a long line cardigan, it is just perfect and chic too.

6, Wide Leg Pants & Jumper

This look is not limited to casual Fridays but it is perfect for that day when all you do not want to wear is a blazer or skirt-suit. You can throw on a brooch on your jumper or a scarf or any other thing you fancy on your look.

7, Monochrome

Loose the glasses and this look is also perfect for casual Friday. In case you are wondering, your monochrome can be in any other colour you like. Just have fun pairing yours.
