No matter how stunning or beautiful what you are wearing is in the Winter, somehow you end up burying the look under some sort of Coats. Since that is the case, why not bury your look under a stunning or fabulous coat? And more so, when it comes to styling for the Winter season, coat is an essential, if you like, you can call coats a must for Winter because without a warm kind of clothing like coats, you freeze once you step outside your home or car. So, today, I will be sharing some coat trends to try with you for this Winter featuring some of my favourites.
Coat Trend One ::: Long Belted Coat
If I can say so, long belted coats come back every Winter. They are currently on the sites of many of the high street brands we love like Zara, New Look, River Island, Mango and more. They are also on the sites of some of my personal favourite luxury fashion stockists like Net-a Porter, Mytheresa etc. More So, they were big on the catwalks in the Autumn/Winter 2017/2018 fashion shows. Right now, your favourite Fashion Instagrammers are also rocking the belted coats. If you want to add some icing on the cake for your belted coat, go for brown as this season’s biggest colour-trend is brown. Go for any shade in brown you like and your style will be “out of the world” this Winter season. So, my first coat trend to try would be long belted coat and this is one of the ways I love to style my own belted coat. Can you tell it feels so cosy?

Trend Two ::: Trench Coat
Another coat trend I can call constant every Winter is the trench coat. For Winter, choose the heavy trench coat with rain proof accent as this would not only keep you warm with proper layering, they would also not retain water when it rains and this way, you remain dry if you ever get in the rain when wearing your trench coat. You can wear the trench coat as a coat and also as a dress (if styled properly). Here are 2 ways I love to style my own trench coats:

Coat Trend Three ::: Cape Coats
Cape coats in my humble opinion are very stylish. They are the kind of coats you can throw over your outfit if you don’t want your clothes wrinkling which can happen with other kinds of coats. You can easily throw a cape coat on your shirt and pants with a pair of boots in the Winter and you are good to go. You can also throw it on an overall like jumpsuit and you are good to go and finally, you can style your cape coat whichever way you want. To make you cape coat fun and fab, you can go for a coloured one…..See one of the ways I love to style my own cape coat.
Coat Trend Four ::: The Teddy Coat
Although I do not have any teddy coats and I do not plan to buy one actually. WHo knows, I may change my mind. Another coat trend to try is the teddy coat. They are really very popular at the moment and they look oh cosy, having seen them from a close range in stores. The closest item I have to a teddy coat is the one below. So, if you are into trends like this, try the teddy coat…..

And those are the 4 coat trends to try this Winter. The 3 selections are classic and would take you from one Winter to another Winter if you care for them. I will be styling these ones I featured on this blog again this Winter and I can’t wait to share my styling with you…..
I want to thank you so much for stopping by and for reading and I do hope you found this post helpful. If you did, do share with your friends and family and also on your social media channels. Love you for doing so. For now, stay warm and stylish.
Much Love, Mojisola.
