I wanted to create a look book featuring colours that matched the Christmas theme and this is it. Not only do they match the Christmas theme, this is an classic-chic work work wear. Also in this post, I will be sharing some colour theories with you.
Outfit of the Day!
For my look today, I was wearing a pencil skirt and frilled detail shirt. To finish my look, I wore a pair of burgundy heels and finished the look with a red coat. And this is my work outfit of the day.
Some of you may be wondering, why pair red with burgundy? I have shared that in a previous look before that it is okay to mix different shades of red. They are all reds and would work together no matter how you pair them. See more on mixing different shades of red HERE
What is Complimentary Colours?
Complimentary colours are colours that are on the opposite sides on the colour wheel. For example, red and green are both complimentary colours. Another example which is my favourite is a mix of yellow and purple. See more look featuring complimentary colours below….
When complimentary colours are paired together, they create a very vibrant look, when used in full saturation. However, I have to mention that the colours have to be managed well so it is not clashing or jarring.
If you want to stand out, complimentary colours is way to go. I must also say that complimentary colours are not the best for text or logo.
