Let’s be honest, a lot of women don’t like their faces to to look heavily chubby. This may sound vain but it is the truth and nothing but the truth. How did I know? It is from my experience working with women of different ages. All women want their cheek bone to pop. In this post, I will share 3 simple steps to make your check bone pop.
Unfortunately when we gain weight, the face tend to be “chubbier” because we gain weight on the face too. The best and simple way to make your face or cheek bone pop is to contour and highlight your face. When you contour and highlight your face, your cheek bone pops.
What is CONTOURING?
In simple terms contouring means to repel light. It is simply a way to add depth or definition to certain areas on the face. While contouring is mainly done on the face, you will notice that beauty gurus are now taking it too far whereby they contour the breasts, legs and butts etc.
What is Highlighting?
Highlighting in simple terms means to attract light to the face. It is simply a way to draw light to certain areas on the face. Highlighters are used in certain spots where light hits naturally on the face like the cheek, cupids bow, bridge of the nose. Like I said above in contouring, beauty gurus now use highlighter on the breasts, legs and butts etc.
You will notice in both photos above, I have a contoured and highlighted face.
How To Make Your Cheek Bone Pop?
It is simply by highlighting and contouring the face. I like to call it a “3 dimensional face lift” where by you contour, blush and highlight. Let me use the cheapest contour powder I personally use as an example and explain this to you even further. You can use any contour kit of your choice.
The simple steps goes like these : Contour – Blush – highlight. See more details below…….
**Contouring: use the contour powder(the dark one) on places you want to repel light from your face. In this case, the cheek. Apply the contour powder on the hollows of your cheek.
**The hollow of your cheek is the deepest part of your face. To do this, suck in your cheek and apply the powder from the end of your hair line on the side of your face and bring it down near the outer corner of your lips. Contour powders can be harsh so blend well.
**Blush: Apply your blush on the high point of your cheek just above the hollow of your cheek and blend towards the apple of your cheeks. Don’t place blush on the apple of the cheek, it will make your face rounder. Blush not pictured. Use one you like.
**Highlighting: On the top of that spot where you applied your blush, apply your highlighter. Be generous if you like but blend well.
The above is how to simply contour and highlight your face to make your cheek bone pop which will instantly make your face look slimmer. You can also contour & highlight other areas of you face like the nose, forehead and jawline to make your face look even slimmer.
If you do your contour and highlighting right, no matter how far you are from your camera while taking photos, your cheek bone still pops. See this picture I took from a distance……
I do hope you found this post on how to make your cheek pop with highlighting and contouring helpful. Do have fun adding some depth and definition to your face and make your cheek bone stand out / pop. By the way, this simple technique is the one your favourite make up artists and your favourite celebrities and super models use, so it no big deal.
I want to thank you so much for stopping by and for reading. Wishing you a fantastic day today filled with a lot of definition for your life.
Much Love, Mojisola.
