IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING ::: COTTON DRESS & LACE UP WEDGES

Impossible was my first thought when I first tried on this cotton dress. I liked it a lot but I thought this mama couldn’t wear this with my boobies hanging out BUT impossible is nothing to me so I worked with it.

But honestly, do you not begin to doubt yourself and your God given abilities when you hear the word impossible flying all around the internet, your office, your college or school and in your home from people you love and trust etc. Do you not have some doubt when you hear impossible?

Check out how the sun was my natural filter in the picture above. Isn’t God so good? Ah!

For my look today, I paired this “cotton dress” with lace up wedges and voila, my outfit of the day. However, there is more to this dress than eyes can see.

The dress was wisely crafted and it is one piece that will be in my closet for a long time. What do I mean? The top half of the dress can be detached from the skirt so basically, you can wear the blouse on its own and you can also wear the skirt on its own.

Wearing the dress, it is supposed to bare the entire mid riff. While it is okay for me to have a skin flash, I couldn’t dare to bare my entire mid riff, that is just me. Also the top half was meant to be knot into a bow but I decided to tie it loose to cover up the boobies and the mid riff.

Let me show you what I mean since picture tells the story better.

Fashion TIP today ::: Bearing Mid Riff

This is a massive trend for this season and it has been around for some time now. I do know on younger women, this is fun to do and I actually like seeing the youngsters rocking the trend.

For a mum like myself, if I have to bare mid riff, it has to be a flash so little that you can hardly tell.  However, I do like to bare shoulders, I think that is hot. An example is me baring shoulder is here and here.

How can Older people bare the Riff? 

1, Don’t bare the riff 🙂

2, Choose a high waisted bottom and layer your crop top on it. It will barely show any skin

3, Layer your crop top on top of a dress to create a crop top effect.

4, Pair your crop top on top of a t-shirt. I saw Nini tried that once. Nini is Rihanna’s stylist by the way.

Having said all of the above, my favourite style advise is to always wear what you like. Have fun with your own pairing.

Motivation for Monday ::: Impossible

In most cases when I write this inspiration or motivation if you like, I look at my surroundings, incidents or even the styling for the day. I look for ways to link back to fashion if I could and today’s motivation is no exception.

I heard of Muhammed Ali’s death on Saturday morning shortly before I clicked publish on the eye brow tutorial I have created earlier so I couldn’t rewrite the post and also I knew a line of his quote will be handy for today’s Monday’s motivation.

One of Ali’s quote was “Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing”.

How powerful is that quote? I started out by saying I couldn’t think of a way to wear the dress featured on this post because it showed the mid riff then I went from not being able to confidently wearing it because I thought of other ways to do so. I also shared a few other ways to wear crop tops for older women above.

Life in general can sometimes be impossible. It may look as though you can never be anything because of the current situation you are in. It may look like the sun will never shine on you again because you are currently in the dark. It may look like you will never smile again because you have no reason to smile now. Listen, it may be impossible now but impossible is to dare like Ali said.

I also have some good news for you from the good book and it says…you can do all things through Christ that strengthens you. This is one of the rules I live by and because I believe this, my mind set is not limited to what I can’t do but my mind set is open to the impossible that I have the power and the potential to make possible.

Dear friends, what is it that seem impossible to you now? You can do it only if you try. Change that mindset, believe, work at it, try even harder and you will achieve. Let God help you because impossible is nothing to God and neither is there a word in God’s dictionary like impossible.

Rest in Peace Muhammed Ali. The world has lost a legend but your great works and memories of all your victories will be with us always.

A cotton dress that is wisely crafted like the one in today’s post is a perfect option for summer. I also hope to bring this one with me when I go on vacation, I hope I can pair the top with a swimming pant and the skirt with a massive hat and basic tee maybe. So go on and have fun with your own summer dresses.
