If I am been honest, I am not one who thinks you have to buy a new dress or clothe before you slay for the holiday parties. My character hasn’t changed and my for that reason, my name remains…..”The Maximiser”. Yep, even at Christmas 🙂 Honestly I am writing this blog for the sake of those sisters who are limited on cash but still want to look good.
Today, I bring you 5 dresses I didn’t buy for christmas parties but can be worn for Christmas parties.
Everyone Loves Red
Red is a bold colour and one that will make you stand out. It is also the perfect colour to wear at Christmas. If you have any red dress in your closet already, feel free to go for it. Wear yours with a pair of killer high heels and a clutch. But hey, always choose heels at your comfort level….you don’t want to fall on your face, do you?
Stand Out in Boldness
A lot of us play it safe by wearing the default colours like Red at Christmas. While red is bold and can make you stand out, try a “bolder” colour like yellow and you will stand out more. I love yellow and I think it is a good choice for the holidays too.
Good news, all skin tone can wear yellow…there are different shades to suit all skin tone.
So stand out, wear colour this holiday season
Little Black Dress
I am a classic woman and I am not afraid to say so 🙂 If you are classic like me, a little black dress is one to explore this Christmas party season. LBDs can take you from day to night and you can also dress them up or down.
Wear yours with fun accessories, sequin blazer to embody the holiday and high heels is always a good idea.
Have fun styling yours…..
Mix Textures
Christmas season is all about having fun with colours, textures and fabrics.
To add some touch of fun to your look, you can explore mixing textures for your own Christmas party. For this look, I mixed jacquard (dress) with fur faux. This kind of look is perfect for somewhere glam.
Have fun mixing textures in your own look…feel free to mix sequin with fur or jacquard with lace. Do whatever “tickles your fancy”
Come Dance With Me
You’ve been invited to a dance part, probably to salsa. A lovely detail dress with frilled hem or bell sleeve with be a good idea to wear to dance. Such dresses are good to go to dinner or drinks after wards too.
Whatever you decide to wear to your own dance party, make sure to add some “sas” to it
So those are my selection of 5 dressed I didn’t buy for Christmas but would wear to Christmas parties be it dance or dinner. Look in your closet, I am sure there is something you can find to wear this season if you are on a budget.
Few Ways To “Jazz up” Your look…..
1, change accessories: this means if you’ve worn the dress with a stud earring before, try wearing it with a statement necklace or drop earrings.
2, Wear high heels : high heels make you walk elegantly, makes you stand tall but most importantly, turns a casual looking look to a dress one.
3, Wear a clutch : instead of wearing your regular old bag, switch things up by wearing a clutch. Clutches are great for night time, Go for an oversized one to be able to fit in your stuff
4, Be creative in your approach: don’t be rigid and you never can tell what you will come up with…..you can wear a dress as a top and things like that….. Have fun styling your look. If you need help, ask me questions.
I want to thank you so much for stopping by. Do take care and have fun this weekend.
Much Love, Mojisola

All of these dress would be perfect for any holiday look! And I completely agree with you, we don’t always have to run out and buy a brand new outfit for the holidays. I think if we just take a moment and shop our own closet we can find something great to wear. Because let’s face it the holidays can be an expensive time of year.

All great options!
I’d go with the yellow, color pops so well on our skin <3
It is my fav too.
You sure have a good taste 🙂
Kisses.
All these dresses are very pretty…but the rose colored dress is my favorite! Especially since I have almost exactly the same dress in a lighter pink – I just wore it for an event in NYC…with silver heels and a silver shimmering scarf – so pretty Mojisola! 🙂
Thank you Linda for reading.
Hope you enjoyed your time in NYC…sounds like you styled your look well, weld done.
Do take care.
