Hi Lovelies, hope you are doing well.
There is no doubt that I love classic pieces but once in a while, I love some edgy look. One of the edgiest piece in my closet is the LEATHER jacket. Just like a structured blazer, I think every one should have one leather jacket in their closet.
A few qualities you need to know about the leather jacket are……
1, they can be dressed up and also they can be dressed down.
2, they can be worn in the colder weather and also in the warmer weather. They have the ability to keep you warm or cold. They are temperature sensitive.
I made a new video on my youtube channelΒ sharing how to choose A PERFECT LEATHER JACKET and thought to share same with you.Β If you are not a video watching person, here are my TIPS in texts and some STYLES of Leather Jacket I love.
1, Invest in a GOOD QUALITY ONE i.e real leather, they last longer/forever. Even though there are a million and one design to choose from, I always recommend that you choose classic. That way you get more wear out of them.
2, Choose a CROPPED FIT. They look better on you and they go with everything from skirts to maxi dresses to trousers. The cropped ones look nicer especially on women.
3, Go a SIZE SMALLER. Your leather jacket willΒ stretch with time. The more you wear your leather jacket, the more stretch it will experience.
A new leather jacket is not too different from a new pair of leather heels, the more you wear your heels, the moreΒ stretch it will experience and eventually it will conform to your feet. Same rule is applicable to the leather jacket, the more you wear your leather jacket the more stretch it will experience and would eventually conform to your body.
Let’s see some styles of Leather Jackets I love
Biker Leather Jacket
Off the Shoulder Leather Jacket
4, When you go and pick out your leather jacket, ZIP IT UP/BUTTON IT UPΒ all the way and lift your hands to the top, if you are able to do that without any stress, that is your perfect size. If you struggle to lift you hands up to the top, that is the wrong size for you. If that is the case, Choose your normal size, don’t go a size down like I suggested earlier.Β
This is very important so your jacket is not too small on you when you buy it and also it isn’t too big on you when it stretchesΒ eventually.
5, Buy BROWN. If you are not a “black wearer” / you do not like to wear black, buy a brown one. Brown is equally stylish and you can mix and match it with other colours.
6, If you can, try and choose the one with LITTLE OR NOΒ EMBELLISHMENTS. You will get more wear out of it.
Let’s see more Leather jacket style….

I have a leather jacket I got almost 20 years ago – it still looks great (though I don’t wear it as much as I once did).
Sarah, the leather jacket last a life time if the original one is bought. Revamp it and rock it girl.
Cheers. Mojisola
Good call on the revamp! I may have to break out the sewing machine!
Awesome Sarah. You should…lol.

Hey Moji, thanks for this informative post. I was passing a store today and actually thought of buying a leather jacket. I’ll keep your points close to heart when I shop for it tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your week!
Cheers. π
Hey Seyi, glad you found the tips helpful. There’s always a reason for everything, you were only delayed to know better. May God teach us to be able to wait for good things to come. Sorry I went all spiritual. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are getting on well with your book.

I love your way with words, they had deeper meanings and I found them. Don’t be sorry for being spiritual, life is not only what we see. May God give us the courage to wait.
Blessings.
Amen to that Seyi.

These are great pics Mojisola, especially the biker leather jacket that’s my go-to style π Love how it can hold its fort on its own or pair it with a dainty dress to roughen it up. Great selection love! π xo~ Lena
