The Midi Skirts have become my go to fashion item. It is a trend that I love and they will be around for a long time. They are classy, chic, very lady like and sophisticated. Most importantly they are perfect for my body type. I also wore it here and here.
For this paring, I wore a midi tube dress as a top (more details below) and cinched in my waist as always with a leather belt and completed my look with patent leather heels and clutch. I kept all accessories to minimal because for me, less is more.
The weather was so favorable on the day so I didn’t need a jacket. I’m sure you can tell from the photos, the sun was shinning so bright, I loved it.
How to Choose the Perfect Midi Skirts
The Midi skirts will be around for Spring/Summer 2015 and I believe for more future Summer to to come so if you don’t have one yet but would love to get one for your self, follow this simple tips to choose the perfect Midi Skirts for you. You can watch full details on video here.
1, Make sure the waist of the skirt sits on your natural waist line.
2, Make sure the skirt is not tight in the bum or thigh area.
3, Make sure the skirt covers the chunkiest part of your legs, especially if you have chunky legs.
4, Wear them with heels. The midi skirts has the natural tendency to make your legs look shorter so when you wear heels, they elongate your legs and make you appear taller. If you can wear them with nude heels. Nude heels are shoes of your own flesh tone.
If you have been following my blog for a while, you will notice that I wear nude heels a lot. Even though my legs are long enough, I can’t get enough of them. See my full article on why wear nude heels here.
Did you see my post from last Wednesday? If you didn’t, see it in full here. I wore this dress in that post and today, I am re styling it as a top. See pictures of the dress below.
The only tip to wear your dress as a top is to make sure that the hem of the skirt is longer than the dress. I love trying new ways to wear my clothes, it is the best way to maximise my closet and you can too. I would also love to dress this dress down some time soon and can’t wait to share that with you.
Do you wear the Midi Skirts? How do you like them, longer length or just regular length and do you like my idea of wearing a dress as a top? Leave me a comment, let me know please.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. I am always happy to see you here. Wishing you a lovely week and God bless.
I was wearing Asos Skirt, loads here//M&S belt, similar here//Christian Louboutin pigalle, here//Zara Midi tube as top//Dune London Clutch.

Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful. Who would have thought? I absolutely love the idea of wearing this dress as a top-I am so trying it out. Sometimes a dress will rest better on your body than a top would, just because it goes all the way down.
And the midi skirt too- this is the kind of skirts I love to wear. I have a few of them in this style, and I am going to look for ways to wear them better. Thank God they are in for S/S 2015.
You look absolutely smashing.
Well Done Mojisola.

Lovely skirt. I am yet to own a midi skirt. I just think it won’t look good on me being so short. Might give it a go.
You should try them with heels and you will be fine.

Oh wow that skirt is a dream! I love the beautiful fuchsia color and thanks for suggesting the tips on wearing this trend! I like flowy ones that are not tight and love the length that hits midway between my knee sand ankles. I hope you have a glorious day Mojisola!! xoxo~ Lena

Thanks Dylana.

Stunning skirt, loving the rich jewel tone. The sash, self-tie is great for showcasing your waist. Great styling as usual. You look great. And yes I love midi skirts but no I wouldn’t wear it over a long pencil knit dress. Seems like it would be constricting when walking in contrast to the flow of a full circle skirt.
