It’s my birthday today (02/03), Yay!. Before I share my gratitude, allow me share what I did for my birthday weekend. To celebrate, we had a beautiful family brunch at Brown Thomas – it was a great time of bonding, celebrating and rejoicing with my immediate family. The boys were as excited as I was. The food was delicious! See below for the picture of what I had…….
If you have been following my journey for sometime, at least for the past 5 – 6 years, you would know that every year for my birthday, I have done something really special (investing in myself and charity). So, this year, I decided not a get any gifts for myself but to invest in someone else – invested a certain amount of money into the life of a young man I met on the street of Lagos. I have never seen anyone like him – with every little, he showed a lot of appreciation and gratitude and I can’t help but to do more. I am really excited about his journey and looking forward to the great future that is ahead of him….
In my immediate environment, on Saturday, we packed my almost new clothes, that of my husband and my sons, some sanitaries, toiletries and some sandwiches and we handed those over to the homeless around the streets of Dublin. Truly grateful to be able to do that and it brought me so much joy for my birthday. No need to share photos, just sharing what I did, you know 🙂
Outfit of the Day + Styling TIPS
I have finally found the perfect shape of mini skirt and dresses for me. Because I loved this dress so very much, I decided this is the one to wear for my birthday brunch. I paired this beautiful mini floral waisted dress with a pair of over the knee boots and voila, my outfit of the day. The dress is so easy to throw on, sexy and chic. I loved wearing it and I think I know someone else who loved seeing me in this dress 🙂
Styling TIPS: As a tall girl, my legs are long already, so, to show off those long legs of mine, I paired the look with over the knee boots. If you are not as tall, guess what, to elongate your legs, you can style this kinds of dress with over the knee boots as well. If you are not into boots, for all my petite ladies, a pair of heels will give you the same leg lengthening effect. I choose boots because they are perfect for this cold weather and they also helped me to be “modest” in style.
This dress I would say is perfect for ALL BODY TYPES. After trying it on and studying its cut, fit and shape, all women would look perfect in it. They made it in regular length and longer length, up to size 24.I was wearing regular length and it is perfect for the vibe I was going for with my over the knee boots. It is a generous fit, I was wearing a UK Size 8 – so, go for a size down. If you want it, unfortunately it is selling out so fast, almost sold out online but you can get it in stores. Retail is good at €40 and quality is good enough for RRP.
Was wearing: M&S Dress | Aldo Over the Knee Boots | Hair by Gemini Hair (it’s good hair y’all)
My Own Brunch – Toasted Ciabata topped with Avocado & Salmon and garnished with Cucumber slices with Plum Tomatoes – Delicious.
What this Birthday Means to Me & My Plans
This particular birthday to me is a time of reflection and thanksgiving. The Father has been gracious to me. I am well and so is my family (immediate and extended) and all the people around me. Looking back, I can truly say that God has truly caused His face to shine on me and has been gracious to me in every way. Even though I am not perfect, God’s will and purpose for me have been perfect. Truly grateful to be living a life of purpose, enjoying God’s grace and mercies on all sides.
This year and beyond, here is my plan….to live life purposefully and to the fullest, to be deliberately kind to as many people who would come my way, to show gratitude continually and to be the best I can be as a women, wife, mum, friend and most importantly, as a child of the most high. And so help me God.
Thank You
I wouldn’t finish this blog without mentioning how grateful I am for you my friends and blog readers. Today marks the 6th year of running this blog. This blog that has helped me build skills, discovered my self and purpose while doing everything I can to maximise my potential and so much more. There has been set-backs but there have been so many WINS (big time). Today, on this blog, I count my blessings and I am grateful. Thank you so much for your love, support and for going on this amazing journey with me. I love you all.
As always, I want to thank you very much for stopping by and for reading. I do hope that you liked the look as much as I enjoyed sharing it. This dress is perfect for work (depending on where you work), for brunch like I did last Sunday and to a day or night time event. I would take it to a date night – it is that hot 🙂
Thanks again for stopping by. Do stay fabulous. Please share your birthday well wishes / prayers with me in the comment. If you have a comment on the look, please feel free to share as well, I would love to read from you.
PS: apologies for the not so great picture. It is better than nothing right? 🙂
Lots of Love,
Mojsiola.
