A lot of us belittle our strengths. We think what we can do doesn’t matter. We think people who have gone farther than us in life are superior to us and we see people who are at the top as “gods”; we feel intimidated by them and a lot of times, we unconsciously start living in their shadow and our #goals become to be like them instead of been the better version of ourselves, who God has called us to be. Today on Motivation for Monday, I want to encourage you on WHY you must find your own voice and use it.
I get messages from “younger girls” and women from time to time and their tone of message is always in the line of I want to be like you and so on. In my reply, I never fail to encourage them to be like them. I say to them to find their own way, their own voice, their strengths, gifts or talents, their uniqueness and build on those things. It is when we are true to ourselves and be original that our own “creativity juice” can flow and we get better at whatever it is that we do. This simple advise is not only for the younger girls that write to me, it is for everyone.
We all must strive with boldness and faith to find our own voice in this overly busy world and internet age. Find your voice, use it and no matter how noisy the world is, when you begin to use your own voice, there are people out there who will listen to you. Your own job is to find and connect with those who would listen to you and not what others think about you. Don’t keep quiet on what you know or what you can do, do those things and you will be surprised that with time, just like any thing, you will be better, grow and become more confident but most importantly, you will begin to change the world.
Are you a Blogger, Fashion Designer, Writer, Baker or do you work in an organisation with people with many years of experience, don’t feel intimated or shy, work hard, ask questions, find a mentor, develop yourself through learning and continue to grow. Your creativity juice will flow, your strength will shine through and you will become better at whatever it is that you do. Like I said in my book, Use What You Have, a mentor does not have to be someone you pay, they can be someone you look up to, someone who can hold you responsible and guide you to achieve your set goal.
Allow me leave you with this………Power is the strength and ability to see yourself through your own eyes and not through the eyes of another. It is been able to place a circle of power at your own feet and not take power from someone else’s circle….Lynn V. Andrews.
In your voice, there is power. Find it and Use it, the world is waiting on you. My prayer for you is that God will give your the boldness to speak. Amen.
