I popped in to see my “older” friend at home last Thursday and her daughter said to me, Aunty, you look so earthy and pretty; you are wearing all shades of brown……I said yes, I went for photos earlier and I just wanted to wear browns……..
I love all kinds of brown, not only do they sit well on my skin, they are a perfect shade for this season. The earthy feel to browns remind me of mother nature and the beauty of Winter……..
Outfit of the Day ::: Cape Scarf & Wooden Heel Ankle Boots
I am not sure people are still wearing capes but I am a kind of girl who loves to wear what I have in my closet whether it is on trend or not…..this is where personal style comes in, wear what you want and when you want. Be You!
But truly, do you know if people are still wearing capes? Please let me know below 🙂
For my look today, I did a little bit of layering….. wearing a skinny jeans and a vest and on top of the vest, I had on a turtle neck and finished the look with a cape scarf as the outer wear. Because the cape scarf is shapeless and bulky, I used a thin belt to cinch in my waist and also to create a nice silhouette on the cape scarf. I finished my look with ankle boots with statement wooden heels. And that is my look of the day!
See HERE to Learn HOW to Layer Up for Winter!
Fashion TIP Today ::: Belts
As you can see in the picture above, I wore a belt to accentuate / define my waistline. Because I am “tall and thin”, if I didn’t wear the belt, I may loose my shape because of the shape of the scarf. The belt made the difference.
Belts can add a nice touch to your look as an accessory BUT most importantly they help you define / accentuate your waist line. If you are “thin” like me, go for a thin belt. If you are top heavy or chubby, go for wide belt. For a “chubby” woman, the thicker the belt, the better it is for you….this is good for helping you define your curvy body.
And that is my quick look / outfit of the day and styling TIP today. I hope you like the look as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you. Do you like brown as much as I do? Let me know in the comments below and have fun styling your own look.
I want to thank you so much for stopping by today. I am always very happy to see you stop by. Wishing you an amazing day today.
Much Love, Mojisola.

The heels on those boots – just awesome.
And brown is really underrated for clothing. I’ve added a lot of it to my wardrobe over the last couple years, as I think it really works well all through the year.
Thank you Sarah. Cheers.

Thank you dear Yetunde for reading and for the feedback. Depending on where you are in the world, the Eco styling gel, you can find in your local beauty supply stores / people who sell large range of hair products. If you check here on the blog on the best beauty product of 2016, I also have a link to where you can buy them there. Hope that helps.
Cheers.
Lovely look Moji. The belt on the cape addition is really nice. It gave the look a nice shape. As for whether capes are in style, I don’t believe that item is going anywhere as long as winter exists. Capes have come to stay.
Thank you for reading Sade. Good to know the capes are here to stay.
Hope you are doing well.
Cheers.
Love this look. I love capes.
Thank you Stella. Glad you do.
