While spanx or “body magic” would be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of how to flatter your waist line. A simple old trick of wearing belts is what I would highly recommend.
The waist line is one of the most important part of the woman’s body. When you accentuate it, it gives the illusion of a curvier body and a slimmer waist line.
To add an instant illusion of a slimmer silhouette or a slimmer waist line, I would highly recommend wearing a belt whether thin or thick.
When choosing a belts, it is important to choose one that works well for your body type
If you are petite, it is best for your to stick with thin belts. A wide belt will cut you in half and would make you look shorter. A wide belt would be like horizontal stripes which make eyes go from side to side.
Even though belts don’t go from top to bottom (vertical), it is important for you to choose one that is thin or not wide so as not to look shorter.
A thin belt it is for you if you have to. Also choose one that matches your blouse to create a monochromatic look.
You may also notice that in the picture above I placed my skirt on my waist line. Another way to create the same illusion of a slimmer waist line or accentuate your waist line is to sit your skirt on your natural waistline.
Another option is for you to wear high waisted skirt. They make you look slimmer equally. See example in this look here
This method is handy for days when you do not have a belt handy or your just don’t want to wear belt on the day.
I do this all the time, let’s see one more………….
Just like I mentioned what kind of belt a petite should wear, I would recommend for a plus size, curvy or top heavy woman to wear thick belts. If possible, wear your belt almost below your burst to help accentuate your burst line. This is because you are likely to carry some weight around your tummy. When your burst is well accentuated, you figure will look well flattered.
I will finish with this, a good undergarment is a must for every woman and of course span x is always a plus.

Belts are an accessory I always want to do more of. I think I need to think of them more as an accessory than how I currently think of them, as something solely utilitarian.
