Black and brown are not 2 colours a lot of people mix together because both hues are dark. However in the Autumn and Winter, they are 2 of the most popular colours you see around when it comes to clothes. You see them in form of coats or jackets, and so many other accessories. I went to the shops yesterday and I saw so many blacks and browns(tan, coffee, dark brown) on the shop displays and they look so fine……..
Today, on Motivation, Should I give up on my set goals now?
Outfit of the Day !
Today’s look is a work style featuring two dark hues (black and brown). For the look, I layered / wore a wool dress over a silk blouse and to cinch the waist, I added a thin belt to the look and a pair of dark brown chunky heels completes the look. Although, I didn’t photograph a bag, a tote or top handle will be ideal for this look as a work style.
Fashion TIP Today ::: Chunky Heels
For ladies who do not like to wear stiletto heels, this kind of chunky heels are a perfect alternative to stiletto heels. Good news! Chunky heels like these ones are also on trend and they are quiet popular this season. I have seen some of them on both the high end and on the high street. So if you are not a “high heel bunny”, go with chunky heels. They are also perfect for going from day to night.
Still on Maximising………
One of the styling advise I gave when I wrote the post on maximising your closet is that you should try very much to look for a minimum of 3 ways to wear one style piece. I think with this particular dress, I have managed to do that. Maximising will save you some cash and time and it will also help you to push yourself out of your styling comfort zone. See other ways I have worn this dress before……….

Look 1
I wore a high neck blouse on the dress and secured it with a wide belt……
Look 2
I wore a pussy bow blouse with the dress and some beige heels (“nude”). In this look, I mixed up all kinds of browns……………
Sorry about the facial expression, the sun was crazy on the day we did this shoot but you get the idea right 🙂
I think one more way to wear the dress will be to throw on a cropped or fitted blazer on the dress. That being said, I may not be featuring this dress again on the blog so I don’t sound like a broken record 🙂
I hope you like all three options.
Motivation For Monday ::: Should I Give Up On My Set Goals Now?
Like I said above, I went to the shops yesterday because I was picking up some gloves I ordered online and I was buying jumpers for my husband. When I got to the mall which I haven’t been in a long time, I saw a lot of Christmas decorations which is an indication that Christmas is just around the corner and the year is coming to an end…..
If you are anything like me, you may be a goal setter. For me, I set goals; realistic goals for the week, month and the year. I do not do New Year Resolutions. Next week, I will talk to you about WHY a lot of New year Resolutions fail.
So have you set some goals this year that you have not met? On the October blog post in review, I opened up that I didn’t meet my goals in September and October….Oops!
If you are like me and you have not met your set goals up till now, here’s what you can do………
What is the most important thing on your list of goals? For example, the most important thing on my list of goals is to get my Inspiration / Motivation book out. So to ensure that I meet this goal, I decided to set a date to launch the book. Crazy right? (1) I am exercising crazy faith on this one that everything will fall into place. (2) I am going to work my behind off to make sure that I meet this goal.
So What is your own target? What is the most important goal you want to achieve but you are thinking of giving up on? Try this simple steps…..
1, Prayerfully write that goal down again. I used “again” because you may have written it down before.
2, Write down steps you want to take to achieve that goal. Be SPECIFIC on HOW you want to achieve this goal
For example, I will write 10 pages of my project in the morning before breakfast and another 10 in the night before I go to bed. This is just an example!
3, Keep it in a place where you can see it all the time. On your desk, vanity or a the notice board in your kitchen.
4, Continue working on it following your set steps…..keep working.
5, Are you there yet? Keep working. Keep going……
When you continue like this, you gain ground or fall into routine, your strength, confidence and faith is built up on achieving that goal and you will achieve it.
6, Reward yourself for achieving this goal.
This reward system is good. It gives you the urge to achieve more. Rewarding your self could be to watch a movie, not anything major or even to indulge in chocolate.
Let’s fast forward to December…… is there any other goal you still want to achieve before the year is finished? For example, make time to visit your mum who lives in Arizona, write it down, set a time to go, place the goal where you can see it everyday as a reminder to self, then make conscious effort to go. And that goal is achieved. Reward yourself. Well done.
Now, when you take stock and you see you have not achieved all you think you could, use the simple steps above. Be intentional and deliberate about it and you will get results. If it is a goal you think you can’t achieve, don’t panic, don’t give up, just set a specific time you can achieve it and you will.
It is never too late to achieve any goal. Achieving anything takes time, takes planning and it takes commitment to self and discipline. You can do it so don’t give up now. Alright?
I want to thank you so much for stopping by today. I do hope you are inspired not to give up even when things don’t seem to be adding up on your set goals. You can achieve anything you set your mind to achieve. Trust me, it is never too late….PRAY & WORK!
Wishing you an amazing day / week filled with strength and grace to achieve your set goals.
Much Love, Mojisola.
I was wearing on today’s look………
