The last time I shared a bun tutorial with you, I used my relaxed hair. You can see the tutorial of that perfect sleek bun HERE. Now that my hair is natural (not chemically straightened), I look for protective styling for my it, especially in the Winter when the weather makes my hair dry. Currently, my best protective styling would be those cornrows that I shared HERE but currently, I am wearing box braids and so, today, I will be sharing with you How to Style Box the Braids into an Elegant Bun in 3 minutes…..
Box Braids!
Box braids are made with Kanekalon hair extensions. Kanekalon hair extensions are synthetic hair extensions that you can buy from beauty supply stores that caters to African and African – American hair. These days, you can buy them on Amazon or Ebay (I can not guarantee the quality of those ones). Another way to get them is to get your friends to buy them for you if there is a store close buy to them where they sell them.
The name box braids came about by the parting style of the hair which is usually in square. However, the parting style of the hair differs depending on who makes the hair.
Box braids can be worn by everyone. However, the hair is worn more by Africans and African – Americans but they are becoming more popular amongst women of all race, age and background. In the Summer, many woman wear box braids as protective styling especially when they travel around the world.
Styling of the box braids is fun. The hair can be styled into so many different styles. The possibility of how you can wear the box braids is endless.
