One of the most REWARDING thing I have enjoyed as a Blogger is that I have built an audience that truly believes in me. I am indeed grateful for this.
At the weekend, I responded to so many emails from all my social networks; Instagram, Facebook and Gmail. I take one hour daily before I go to bed to read and respond to emails. The two that brought tears to my eyes this past weekend were the ones I received from a lady from Nigeria and another from the UK via my Facebook page. I have cut out names to keep identity secured…….please read below:
When I receive mails like that, they make me smile and emotional at the same time because my vision is to truly inspire everyone who stops by this blog no matter where they are from. I am grateful that so far, we have been able to do that and we will continue to do so. This brings to Motivation for Monday……..
Motivation for Monday ::: Validation
Most of the life instances I shared in my book, “Use What You Have” are from my life experiences from my job loss to finding my way to entrepreneurship.ย ย I also used instances of those around me to buttress my points. ย In Chapter 7 of the book, I wrote about validation.
Validation means to wait for approval or confirmation or to authenticate something. It could be anything. Stay with me, I am going somewhere………….
In life, ideas come in a flash; like a vision or even a dream. What you do with what you imagine / dream about is what matters. Nothing else does! ย If you can imagine it, you can be it or achieve it…..William Arthur Ward.
When I got the vision to mix Fashion with Motivation (“Motifashion”), I didn’t doubt myself. I went for it and I went fully into it. I continued writing and sharing. I wrote when nobody read and I didn’t stop. “Motifashion” gave birth to the vision to write “Use What You Have” which is now an Amazon Bestseller. ย By the way, I am currently working on embedding it to the site.
What am I saying?ย
I am saying that if I waited for someone or people to validate my vision of “Motifashion” for me I would have “chickened” out. I am saying that even now I get people who give me the vibe of you are a Stylist or a Fashion blogger you shouldn’t write motivation or talk about motivation that I ignore them. I am saying that I will continue to do what I believe in and inspire the people whom I have being sent to. You have not been sent to everyone. No, you have not! “You have not been sent to them” is another subtitle in “Use What You Have”. Maybe I will treat that some time soon.
You, yes you reading this. If you are out there waiting for people’s validation of your vision / dream, you are wasting your time, dream, vision and gift. If you are out there and you are letting fear rule your world, you are wasting away. If you out there and you are postponing your vision to someday, someday will never come because someday is not a day on the calendar….it will never come. If you are out there not going after what you believe in, you will continue to get stuck in a rut.
My encouragement to you is DON’T WAIT! Don’t wait for anybody’s validation or stamp of approval. WHY? You are the only one who can or will understand your vision because it is unique to you. If you are not sure, pray about it and continue to work at it. You will find your way, trust me, you will. Never forget, when God gives you a vision, He never fails to make provision for you. Never!
Will you continue to wait for validation or will you start with what you have; you vision, gifts, ideas, talents or dream. Will you? I hope so.
Don’t waste it, go for it. My prayer for you is that as you take that bold step of faith to go after your dreams, all of the things you need, God will provide for you. Amen.
Listen, if you have any questions, feel free to ASK me. I may not be able to give you the gift of money but I am committed to helping as many people as I can with the gift of knowledge. When I started my journey, I had people who held me by the hand only because I asked and it is my commitment to do same for others. ย Have any questions, please ASK…..ย When we ask, we receive ๐
Outfit of the Day ::: MINIMALISM & Fashion TIP Today
Today’s look is a minimal one. If you are new to the blog, welcome! It is my pleasure to let you know that this mama loves it simple BUT sleek and today’s look is no exception.
For this look, I paired a hi-low skirt with a clean crisp black button detail white shirt. To cinch in the waist, balance my proportions and “show off” my figure, I wore a black belt with gold accent (thanks to my bro-in law, Semi who gave me the belt) and to finish the look, I wore a pointy toe cut out heels and voila, that is my minimal look of the day.
This look is good enough for an elegant night out…I am talking about giving a speech at an event or presenting an award at an event or gathering or hosting a master class. Speaking of master classes, I have my Spring edition coming soon, will fill you on it. You can ask me how to join in in the comments or via email.
When you wear a statement skirt like this, pair it with a clean and crispย shirt, it looks classy and polished. Have fun styling your own look.ย
And that is my minimal outfit of the day and motivation for Monday!
Don’t forget, go after your dreams. My mother would say, the journey of a thousand steps starts with just one step. Bless you mama!
So will you be bold enough to take that first step? I hope so.

I really like the tips you gave it’s helpful to see someone else take on styling different pieces. I think that’s the greatest part about the blogging world is you build a tribe of people that genuinely want to support and grow with you!

It took me a while to realize that I don’t need to seek validation from other people. As long as I have my faith and stay true to my beliefs then my hard work will pay off. Thanks for the reminder!
