I live by my rule of not changing what I love and because I love white very much, I look for different ways of wearing it to make it fun, stylish and not monotonous. Outfit of the Day!

For my look today, I wanted a look that is minimalistic, tailored, polished and clean and here it is. For the look, I paired my wide leg pants with a white cut out vest and to add sophistication and a touch of on-trend styling to the look, I threw on my blazer loosely on my shoulder. And a pair of beige heels complete the look.

Fashion TIP Today ::: How to Wear Blazer Loosely on the Shoulder

Wearing blazer loosely on the shoulder is a “trend” that started about 2012 on the run way and it is still very much in at the moment. I have seen “style gurus” like Rachel Zoe rock her blazer loosely on the shoulder and my style icon, Victoria Beckham. Victoria sure knows how to wear tailored pieces and classics like a PRO!

To be able to wear your blazer on your shoulder with no hassle, ensure that the blazer fits well. When I say fit well, I mean let the shoulder of your blazer sit nicely on your body. Ensure the blazer is not tight or too small so when you wear your blazer on your shoulder; you don’t look like you were squeezed in it. The blazer I have on in today’s look is one size bigger than me. I choose one that is one size bigger so I could wear it hassle free and loosely on my shoulder. Although the blazer is one size bigger, it fits well even if I have to wear it as normal. See what I mean below……….

Motivation for Monday ::: Playing it Safe

Last Saturday, I was in the midst of about 4 ladies, all of which I do not know well. While talking, one of them asked, “so where do you get inspiration for writing”? I said inspiration comes from every where!  And that is nothing but the truth.

As you all know, I like to link my outfit of the day to my Motivation for Monday because it pushes my imagination for writing wider. As always, today’s motivation for Monday is no exception because it is linked back to my outfit of today. 

On my first line above, I said, if you like something, don’t change it. I meant it and I said because I love white, I look for different ways to wear it and thankfully, white works for all occasions (weddings, works, meetings, funerals, birthdays etc).  Everyone does not have to like what you like. What matters is if you like the thing because you matter.

A lot of us tend to change who we are, what we like or what we like to do because of what other people think or what other people expects of us. If you change who you are because of what the society expects or what people expect you to like or what they expect you to be doing, you are playing it safe. When you play it self, you will……

1, not be able to do all you are called to do or be who you are called to be

2, you will be a people pleaser. This will restrict you, your abilities and you may not be able to turn any potential you have to purpose

3, you will be angry within yourself because you can’t do what you really want to do

4, you will be stuck, stagnant and may not grow

5, you will always have to think about what people would think before you live the live you were called to live. This is bondage!

From my experience from being in the public domain, people will always have something to say. If you play it safe, they will always have something to say and if you don’t play if safe, they will also have something to say so why play if safe? Be who you want to be and do what you want to do in your own way and that is how you can stand out and that is how people can connect with you. People’s opinions should not define you or limit you to be who you should be. Be courageous and stop playing your life safe because of what people think.

Be you! Be who God made you to be. Be Free and run your race the way you are led to. Stop playing it safe!

I do hope you are inspired by this monochromatic look in all white (outfit of the day) and I hope you are inspired to be who you want to be and be you. Life is too short to live by what people expects of you. You matter, so be you.
