A couple of months ago, I shared a blog titled FOCUS where I encouraged you to Follow One Course Until Successful. I am not changing my mind today about the tips I shared in that post but I am here to tell you today that while it is important to follow one course until successful (FOCUS), it is also important to recognise that we must have a VERY OPEN mind for us to be able to succeed in all areas of our lives. Let’s check out today’s motivation for Monday
Allow me share a story with you to help send my message home clearly. When I launched this blog, the people who knew me from the very first start know that I was all out to do Fashion. It was fashion only!. However, as I continued, GIFTS I knew I had but had never bothered to use or develop started manifesting in me. It was the gift of encouragement. I humbly say that every time I open my mouth to advise someone or give counsel, every time, those people (old, young, leaders in high places, people older than me) feel better about themselves or their problems. In the words of the scripture….”one has been given the gift to give wise counsel”. I believe I have been gifted to give wise counsel.
As soon as I discovered that I had this gift, I looked for a way to continue to use my gift of encouragement, motivation and inspiration. Even though I am doing something totally different from what I set out to do, I am still making an impact in life giving the best of both worlds. This simply means, I am still doing the same thing….being a Blogger but one who helps with fashion(help people look good on the outside) and one who helps people feel inspired to go fulfil their purpose (help people feel good on the inside). And if I can say so myself, I have managed to MASH UP both together very well achieving great results.
These days, people write to me saying, they can’t wait to read Motivation for Monday every week. Isn’t that amazing? And I owe it to them to deliver every week. Grateful girl, I am.
See, I have managed to find my way even though when I started out, I wasn’t too sure about what I was doing. The initial plan was to use Fashion to influence people but now, I do not only influence people with Fashion and Style, I also influence so much more with the Motivation/Encouragement/Inspiration. I have to say that many more people are joining the motivation lovers weekly, especially on Facebook and Instagram. I am grateful for all of you.
Looking back, using my gift of encouragement and including motivation into what I do, I now conveniently call myself a “Motivational Speaker” and have spoken at many corporate events, I have written 2 motivational books, I influence people daily/weekly with the motivation blogs and have created a course focused on motivating/encouraging people.
So, today, I want to share a few things to embrace a flexible path while focusing on your goals
Start Out First
It is natural to be scared when launching into any new thing. Like I said above, when I launched this blog, I knew what I wanted to achieve but I didn’t really know how to achieve those things. I will tell you this, everything I learnt on blogging, book publishing, speaking and everything I now do, I learnt as I went along on my journey by investing in courses, coaching/training and time in myself. Now that I know a lot, I teach those things too. If I may, this is how to make money: add value by teaching what you know to help people…….
If somebody offers you an amazing opportunity but you are not sure you can do it, say yes – then learn how to do it later…..Richard Brandson

Don’t Be Rigid
You know I told you when I started out, I was all out for fashion then I included motivation. As soon as I started writing motivation, I lost many audience. I’ll tell you why. I write from the conviction of my faith as a Christian. I pull from the bible, break it down and write motivation from it. Many who didn’t share my faith stopped visiting the blog but I continued all the same. However, now the motivation for Monday blogs attract the most traffic because many people love to be encouraged, inspired and motivated and I guess they find fulfilment when they stop by. Thank you guys for always reading.
When you follow the right path for your life, the right people stays with you. Be careful not to waste time with people who would never be for you.
Don’t Quit
Okay, nobody says it was going to be easy but it would be worth it. When I lost those many readers as said in the point above, I could have quitted but I didn’t. For you to be able to achieve good success, you must be a patient and be persistent. Wait a little bit and if what you are doing is not working, look for other ways (be flexible) to achieve success but don’t quit.
Winners Never Quit and Quitters Never Win. You were born to win, don’t quit.
Have a Plan or Not
I know someone may say, this one should come first but I’ll tell you this, some of the good things I have ever achieved started out with no plan. I have shared it before, the “Use What You Have” book started from my kitchen. I was doing chores when this idea came to me to write and immediately, I ran upstairs and starting writing. Now, not only did the book become an Amazon Bestseller, I have now turned it into a course that is changing lives.
See, not every good thing starts out with a plan. In fact, I can say that some people plan and plan and they never take action. So, it is okay if you started out anything by accident, as you go along, continue to write your plan.
Ideas may come to you by accident but to be successful at that idea, you must continue even if your plan and path are still not clear.
Delay of Success
This one is one of the hardest things to do. When you put in so much effort but the results are not just coming, our instinct tells us to quit but sincerely, I have realised that in everything, when we do not give up or never become weary in working hard, reward comes.
In my first year of running this blog, I ran at a loss: wasn’t able to monetise effectively. It was a struggle but I can say now that from the many wings of “content creation” we do, now we steadily make money. We add value and we get rewarded for it. In business especially, you need lots of patience and strategy to monetise. If you don’t know how, do reach out to someone who can help. If you are stuck, please contact me or book a clarity call with me. I will be glad to help.
Finally, being flexible is an attitude we all must embrace be it in business, education and career. There is no one straight path to succeed. Even when our vision is clear, the route to which we achieve that vision or goal may change or differ from what we first planned out. We must be flexible on our paths to succeed. And we all can succeed……
This was from one of my very first speaking engagements in 2014
I want to thank you so much for stopping by and for reading. I do hope you were inspired today to draw a clear goal or have a clear vision but be flexible to achieve success because truly, there is no one way to succeed. And guess what, if you truly follow through, you will SUCCEED.
I believe in you. Much Love,
Mojisola
