LOVE : A BEAUTIFUL THING | HAPPY VALENTINE

It is on special occasions like this (Valentine’s) that I like to share a little bit more of myself. To so many, I am an extrovert because I blog fashion. To me, I know I am an introvert and very private especially when it comes to my family.

Oprah Winfrey once said; even though you are in the public eye, it is always best to keep your private life private. Those words will forever remain with me. For that reason, I keep my private life very private.

Today however is different because I will be sharing a little bit more of me with you because love is in the air.

Recently, I read an interview by a well respected business woman from Nigeria(won’t mention names). She says and I quote…”women should not be married before age 30 because they can be easily distracted before that age”.

I openly wrote on a public forum that women should be married once / when they find the right person and shouldn’t have to wait till after 30. No woman should have to wait because society thinks she may not be ready. And NO woman should be forced to marry because society thinks she is getting old. Women should be married when they are ready and when they’ve found the one they love and the one who loves them back in return.

Love works differently for different people. It doesn’t happen with or by age.

You see, I met my husband when I was 22, it was when I was almost finished from the University. No I wasn’t married at 22 but we have been married for 12 years and I don’t think I have been distracted what so ever. Distractions in marriage is when you are restricted from doing what you want to do or be who you want to be. It could be limitations to what you can do or be.

When you find the right person, you will be far from distracted. The right partner brings out the best in you. They push you away from any kinds of distractions whatsoever and they shield you. They also protect you and guide you. The right partner points you in the direction you should go even if you can’t see it. All of that qualities and more I have found in my own partner even though I met him at a “young age”. He pushes me in the directions I can’t seem to find myself and away from any kinds of distractions. Most of those directions I may not have found on my own if not for him.

In our marriage, just like many marriages/relationships we have had ups and downs. Above all we love, respect and honour each other. This season is special to us because we love love and we celebrate love deeply and passionately.

As I write this post, my ROSES have been delivered to me and some other goodies. I love and cherish such gesture from the one I love dearly. In most cases, he tells me not to buy him anything but I have and I will be giving his own gift to him on Valentine’s day.

I shared this little “story” because love is a beautiful thing.

Love can last forever even if you find it at a very young age.

And……………

To every woman / man that is hoping to fall in love with that special some one.

To the man / woman who thinks he / she can never find love or fall in love again after been hurt or broken.

To every man / woman still wondering if love is real or love is worth it.

I say to you love is a beautiful thing.

Hold on, be patient and keep looking. Love will find you and when you find love you will know it.

What does LOVE look like? Love is patient, it is kind, does not like to have it’s own way, it is gentle, it gives, it pampers and it LOVES.

When you find love, you won’t let go. You will want to hold on. You will want to stay. STAY, with that person you love forever; that is love.

For this look, I decided to take an unusual root for my Valentine’s look book.  What do I mean by that? I decided not to do any look with red, pink or any colours associated to Valentine’s.

I wanted a look that is sultry and one that oozes romance and this is it.

I paired a wide leg/Palazzo pant with an halter neck silk blouse which showed off my “beautiful brown shoulder”.  I finished my look with nude heels to make the look fluid. To keep me nice and warm, I threw on a fringed cape to make the look more trendy.

Fringes are still trending by the way!

Love to me is in the eyes !  Even though I decided not to do pinks and reds for my outfit, I incorporated those colours into my make up with some lashes for that extra sexy eyes…..wink wink 🙂

Never forget that love is a beautiful thing and it can last forever if you truly cherish it.
