As a mum myself, I know how hard it can be to joggle work, family life and everything in between. Sometimes, you get back from work and then it’s time to bring Junior to football or Sarah to ballet or dancing. Does that sound familiar?
On today’s post, I bring you a quick styling on how to go from work mode to mummy mode without changing clothes. Let’s do this. How are you by the way?
Outfit of the Day ::: Midi Skirt Dressed Up & Dressed Down
Work Style
On today’s look, I styled a midi skirt with a striped jumper with gold accent for work. To make the look fall appropriate, I wore some panty holes / tights and finished the look with gold detail suede heels and textured tote completes the look.
You can wear your own look without the panty holes / tights. I was just channeling me some spring summer trend from the recent NYFW.
Tights was one of the accessories I spotted on Altuzarra SS17 collection and it is one of the easiest ways to transition to fall without buying a new thing. I shared more on HOW TO TRANSITION TO FALL HERE
Dress Down Style
Recently, someone left me a question here on the blog asking HOW can she wear sneakers with Midi Skirt? Here is the answer…..
Also this look is a dressed down version of the midi skirt. In simple words, this is how to go from work mode to mummy mode in 2 minutes. For example, you have just returned from work then you need to dash out to run errands or drop the children off to their extra curricular activities….
Simply remove your heels and throw on some comfortable sneakers. They are super comfortable and easy for running around. And of course, sneakers are on trend.
You can wear Sneakers with anything this days!

Motivation for Monday ::: Joy Comes in the Morning.
Life brings ups and downs. I have noticed that no matter how perfect our lives are, we all have downs at some point in time. Things may not always be rosy but if only we can go to sleep, there will be joy in the morning.
I am a worrier. I worry about everything. It is because I just want everything to be perfect. I have also come to realise that no matter how much I worry, there will always be downs as much as there will be ups. As I continue on the journey of life, I have now figured that no matter what, when we go to sleep, there will be joy in the morning. This simply means when we wait, change will come or the sun will shine again.
I encourage you to always wait. Please wait, joy will come in the morning and the sun will shine again on you.
These are a few things to try when you feel like the sun will never shine again:
1, Focus on the positives:
The things God has blessed you with; your healthy family; your cheerful and happy children. Take your eyes of the problem and focus solely on God. Man can fail but God can never fail. Call him, he will answer
2, Take a break:
There will always be things to get done and part of the reason why we worry is that we haven’t got those things done. When you begin to feel weary of the things you don’t have done, take a break.
Go for a walk. Watch a movie. Meet up with a friend for coffee. Look through the family album. Call a friend etc. Do something different from what is challenging.
3, Have a drink
Nothing compares to a glass of cold water. When you feel that down, breath in and out and drink some cold water. It makes you feel relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated.
4, Praise & Pray
Everything is possible when we pray. Take all that pain to God in prayer. He answers when we call. He rewards those who seek Him.
5, Go to Sleep
When you feel down and you feel like there is nothing else to do. Get some sleep. Sleeping is as good as drinking a glass of chilled water. Get some sleep, when you wake up in the morning, Joy comes with it.
Never forget that in the journey of life, you are not alone. If there is anything you are going through, you are not alone. Speak to someone and speak life to yourself. All will be well with you. Joy will come in the morning, no matter what you are going through. May joy come to you in the morning I pray, amen.
I want to thank you so much for stopping by today. I am always very happy to see you stop by. I hope you enjoyed the styling of this midi skirt dressed up and dressed down as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you. Please let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
Wishing you an amazing day filled with joy all the way.
Much Love, Mojisola

Thank you Chi. I am so glad you were inspired by it. Do take care of you. Cheers.
I really am a sucker for skirts and kicks, haha!
Are those pink sneakers you chose to wear too?? They add a different vibe to the look that I really love!
I hope you guys had a lovely weekend, cheers to the start of a new week!

Thank you Dana. I am glad you liked the look. Take care of you. X
Happy Monday! Its so true joy always comes in the morning! Love all the different shoe options for wearing a midi skirt but those pink sneakers are by far my favourite. I agree with Dana, they add a different look… a cool street style vibe. Have a great week!

Thank you Jackie. I am glad you like the look as much as I do. Do take care of you. Cheers
Great looks – that skirt is just fantastic!
Also, I love the advice. I really need to take some of it more to heart – particularly the part about taking a break. I always think I don’t have time for one, but when I do, I come back refreshed and so much better than I would be if I hadn’t taken the break!
Thank you so much Sarah. YEs, we all have to learn to take time out to rest, it makes a lot of difference. Do take care of you and don’t be afraid to take a little bit of rest if you need to.
Cheers.
This is the first time I have stopped by your blog and I love it. Your photos look amazing and this outfit is so cute. I love how you can wear a heel or a sneaker and it looks cute either way. I hope to stay connected and support each other.
Have a wonderful week!
