There’s this popular saying that when life throws lemon at you that you should make lemonade. This was the case of a couple over the weekend. They decided to make lemonade out of the lemon Nature threw at them.
In case you don’t know, there was a heavy down pour of snow in some part of the US for some days. While a lot of people stayed in doors, the couple decided to do their pre-wedding shots in the snow.
Now they are so popular because of the photo shoot.
Stay with me, I am going somewhere with this story because it is not all about their sudden popularity…..
Did you hear or read about them? Check the gorgeous photo here.
For my look today, I kept it minimal and sleek.
I paired my midi a-line and full midi skirt with a pleated long sleeve high neck blouse. To finish my look, I paired it with some printed blue-black heels. I am so in love with the pocket detail of the skirt, it is my favourite bit of the skirt aside the button detail.
Red as the pop of colour on this look would have been so predictable so I went with blue instead.
Back to the life throwing lemon……
We were out shooting this look when nature decided it was time for some rain. It started drizzling after one or two clicks. I turned around to Claire and said; listen, I need to twirl in this skirt and she said go for it. And here goes………
I started gently !
And a little bit more……..
And YES, I got it! Face captured, Skirt fully a-lined and a perfect ending to my twerking, sorry twirling adventure………
Motivation for Monday :::: When Life throws you Lemon, make Lemonade !
In life, there will always be challenges, bumpy roads and so many failed attempts. You name it!
My mother would say, things will not always be “rosy”. At some stage, the road may be bumpy but you have to endure she would say. I totally agree with ma because she is so right. Things are not always smooth or rosy in my life. It may look as though to some, but it has never been so smooth. Her voice in my head all the time keeps me going and of course the special grace of God.
I think things are not always smooth in everybody’s lives except I am getting it all wrong. Whenever it feels like the road is rough or bumpy in your live, please don’t give up, please be calm, please be prayerful and please rise when you fall and don’t stop believing.
Don’t forget, no matter how bitter the lemon life throws at you, be sure to make lemonade out of it. Well the taste may “suck” but ensure to have a taste of it at least and psych yourself that it tastes nice/delicious. If need be, add some sugar and some ice cubes and then you can feel the real taste of a fine lemonade.
Don’t forget that when we don’t give up or stop believing or stop trying, nature itself will yield to our cry and give us victory.
Our photo shoot started rough and bumpy because of the drizzle we encountered but we came out with good shoots only because we waited a little bit longer and boom, every thing became calm again.
Same with those couple who are now internet sensation, they turned the not so good situation to their favour. Trust me, you can do it too and in all areas of life.
It is what you make of that situation that matters. Do your best to write a good story out of it.
Always try again if you fail,
Always rise again if you fall
Always believe that all will be well and it will be indeed.
Always trust in God, the Author and the finisher of our faith

Aside the effect of the powerful camera Claire uses(she is super talented), you can see the effect of white attracting light to my face.
If I do say so myself, my face looked bright and beautiful…… That is the power of white !

I love your twirly skirt. And the whole look. Simply beautiful!!!
I love the story of the couple too. My take on life is if you can’t do anything about it, don’t fret. Just make the best use of it. You’ll come out better. I’m inspired.
Thanks Sis.
Thank you for reading. Yes, I agree with your approach. Life is what we make of it.
Cheers.
Yay to motivational Mondays! You look beautiful in black and white! And I would have never know it was raining from your pictures as your face is radiating joy. You know as much as I dislike taking pictures in the brutal cold, there is something beautiful about it too. When it’s really cold and sunny here we get sundogs, they are beautiful magical rays of lights. It reminds me of how beautiful life is 🙂
Hope you have a great week!

Great photo shoot! You pulled it off.
I’m one of those people here in the US that was hammered with snow. I’m here in New York City and we got a ton of it. Worst part is, I had foot surgery, I’m on crutches and I had to prepare in advance (food, snacks & lots of wine) before the storm hit. No photo shoot for me.
I love that you didn’t go for the standard pop of red. You’re so right, that’s such an easy move. The blue is gorgeous. You look stunning.
