I know what you are going to say already! White again right?
But sincerely what’s not to love about white especially when it is a monochromatic look?
I have said it so many times that if I could, I would wear white everyday. Yes I would!
White is so pure, fresh and crisp and of course you can wear it to all occasions. When I shared this all white look here, I talked about wearing white as a wedding guest which was a taboo in the old days. In this modern age, white it is for most occasions if not all.
My little and only problem with white is keeping whites clean especially a monochromatic all white look like this one. However, I have now figured out how to keep my whites clean which I will share with you below. Keep reading………..
For my look today, I decided to keep it an all white one in a cropped tapered pants / trousers and a basic tee and a cropped style blazer. To make the look a little playful, I rolled up the sleeves of the blazer and finished my look with my favourite beige / nude pumps.
Talking about cropped pants, recently, I shared TIPS on choosing the perfect cropped pants for you and practical examples in styling HERE. If you missed it, go ahead and read it, you will find it helpful.
Fashion TIP today ::: How to keep your whites clean
1, Apply make up first then wash your hands before wearing your whites. If it is an outfit you have to pass through the head, wear the clothe first and put a dressing gown / robe over it before you apply your make up.
To adjust, fasten buttons and the little bits we do after dressing up, wash hands after make up application or keep some baby or face wipes handy to wipe hands. I do not have babies whose behind I wipe anymore but I still shop for baby wipes when we buy groceries only to wipe off hands during make up application. They are so handy for that purpose and many more purposes trust me.
2, Keep whites in dry cleaning bag. Most of my whites are not machine washable so I dry clean if I have to. For days when I do not intend to dry clean, I leave my whites in the dry cleaning bags after use. I air dry them after wear by hanging them by the wardrobe and return them to the dry cleaning bag.
3, I do my best not to hold a child when wearing whites. If you have a baby, wear your whites after you finish caring for the baby. If you can, take off your whites before caring for them.
I know that may sound vain but hey, it saves the cost of dry cleaning and of course you get to go out without changing clothes and on time too.
4, This one is tricky. If at a function / occasion, hug less, shake hands more. This may be hard to do but you want to stay away from ladies / gents whose make up could get on your whites. On the other hand, you may have to try that Hollywood kiss; that one you give without making contact with the person : )
5, Of course, wash if need be or dry clean if need be. And iron with clean iron not one your younger child burnt his clothes with earlier.
The other thing I want to share with you is this……
This “suit set” was improvised. I didn’t buy them together. I bought them as separates. The fabric texture and the design of both pieces actually match like they were made together. By the way, blazer is 3 years + while pants are new.
What I do when buying separates is that I bring which ever one I need to match with the other to the store and try both of them on together. This is an option to explore if you need to match one half of clothing with another; try them on together to see if they match.
If you shop online, ensure to keep the clothes clean so you can return them for refund if need be.
Motivation for Monday :::: Use What You Have
This photos were taken when we did the pictures of the LBD I featured here so they are old photos. I have since taken out my braids and now have a new hair do. I may share that with you soon.
When I took off my braids, I was looking for new ways to deep condition my hair so I went online for information. I tried Instagram too. On Instagram, I saw a picture of this lady with big black thick natural hair and I was like wow. I decided to look further and I was blown away with what I saw. She is a “HAIR COACH”
Mehn, what in God’s name is a hair coach I asked myself?
A hair coach is someone who mentors people on how to grow their hair. They teach you how and hold you accountable for your hair growth. Just like what every other coach does really.
What am I saying? The lady is actually using what she has to get what she wants. She has good hair and she is using the hair not only to help others but to make a living. The lady charges people to teach them how to grow their hair.
If I am been honest, for a second, I thought how could some one be teaching anybody how to grow the hair that grows out of their scalp? But then I thought if you don’t know something, no matter how you try, you can never get it done except if you learn it. Like it or not, that is the truth.
What I am saying is that we all have been blessed with something inside of us. We all have something we can use to get what we want. We all have been blessed with a gift we can explore. If you truly look inside, you have a gift in there.
Do you know what your gift is? Take a moment to think about it.
If you have a gift and you are not using it, you are wasting it if I am been honest with you. Your gift has not been given to you for you to waste. It / they (because some of us have more than one gift) have been given to you to help others and to change the lives of other people and so that God can be glorified through you because He gave you that gift in the first place. The amazing thing is that you can also monetise your gifts .i.e you can earn some money by using your gift or make a living from it like that hair coach. Isn’t that amazing?
Some of you may have noticed that I talk about money. I do because there is no point NOT making money if you can. I believe if you work hard, you should be rewarded for your hard work, if not a lot, a little at least. Don’t you think so too?
So you have no excuse not to do well in live or to fulfil your purpose. You have been given a gift, it is what you have, use it or them to get what you want. Sometimes in live, it is when we start using our gifts that we can truly fulfil our purpose on this earth. Please don’t waste it.
Allow me stop here, next time, I will share some ways in which you can truly discover your gifts if your don’t know how. So stay tuned.
Those glasses! I talked about how I came by them here 🙂
I was wearing……..
Zara Pants // Zara Blazer // Christian Louboutin Cornielle 100
