You want the perfect summer feet / pedicure but you are on a budget or just don’t have the time to go to a nail saloon, here’s how to DIY (do it yourself)….
Prep Nails ::: Remove Nail Polish, Trim & File
The first step is to prep your nails. Remove old nail polish with a nail remover that works. Even if you didn’t have on nail polish before, always wipe nails with nail polish remover; doing this will prep nails to receive nail polish and any dirt or grease that may be on nails before will be removed which will make your nail polish glide on very easily.
Next step is for you to trim your nails. Cut them straight across and don’t cut them too short; leave them long enough so you don’t struggle when applying your nail polish of choice. When you finish trimming, file them into shape (square or round).
Wash Up ::: Soak, Exfoliate, Scrape off Dead Skin cell
Get a big bowl or use a foot bath if you have one. Pour in some warm water (not hot) into the bowl, pour in some body wash or shower gel in the water. Add a little bit of sea salt to help soften cuticle and dead cells on the skin. Soak for about 30minutes, for very tough or hard under feet skin, soak for longer to enable easy removal of dead skin cell. By the way if you don’t have a big bowl or a foot bath, do it in your bath and that is why it is DIY. With DIY, anything is possible.
Once the feet is soft, get your foot scrub or body scrub if you don’t have any foot scrub at home and scrub feet till smooth. I like to scrub in circular motion, it is relaxing. Do it which ever way you fancy.
You can also DIY your foot scrub by making a mix of brown sugar and olive oil or coconut oil
For under the feet, grab your foot file, scrap and scrub off any dead cells. Do not use razor, this will make under your feet harder with time.
If under your feet is super hard or tough, use lemon on it and leave it on for 10minutes, this will make scrubbing off dead cells easier.
Once you rinse the feet, pat them dry and remove cuticle with your cuticle remover. Since your feet has been soaked up for a while, this should be easy to do.
Lock in Moisture ::: Do some Moisture Massage
Rinse your feet again after removing cuticle and pat them dry. While feet are still damp, apply your feet moisturiser or feet oil or body oil. While applying oil or moisturiser, massage along. This is relaxing.
Glam them Up ::: Prep, Paint and Polish Your Toe Nails
Using a cuticle stick, push back cuticle. If you do not have a cuticle stick handy, the flat end of a tweezer will do the job for you. Next, apply some base coat and allow to dry. Then apply two coats of your favourite nail polish and allow them to dry up; then apply top coat for shine. Once nails are dry, apply cuticle oil to the entire toe nails and corners, rub in gently. And that’s how to do your PEDICURE at home.
I do hope you found this 4 steps DIY pedicure handy. Whether you are on a budget or you just don’t have the time to go to a nail saloon, that’s how to do it yourself.
I want to thank you so much for stopping by today. I am always very happy to see you stop by. Wishing you a lovely day today
