I count it all joy when I open my mail and I find requests from people and from different parts of the world. It is a reminder to me of why we were called. We were called to serve. To everyone who is not serving with the gifts you have been given, you may be missing a lot in changing lives. Today on Motivation for Monday, I will share more with you why it is important to serve but first let me answer this request from a dear reader.

On Today’s ASK MJ ::: What Can I wear to an all White Summer Wedding?

I have been invited to a summer wedding but I have a limited budget. Although I read your post on what to wear to a summer wedding the other time but the dress you wore is beyound my budeget. Could you please do a post with something more affordable? R. Love you blog by the way, you always inspire!

Thank you for your request R (R is the first letter of my readers name). Attending an all white summer wedding is right up my alley because I love white! And today’s look is dedicated to your request. For my look today, I choose for your request a dress I wore last Winter HERE, this is actually a winter dress. And because it is a classic piece, it is perfect for all seasons.

For this look, I paired my dress with a white hat and finished my look with a high heeled sandals with pom pom and a white tassel detail clutch completes the look. Since the dress is plain, I wore a pair of coloured drop earrings and a lip gloss that matches the colour of my earrings adds a pop of colour to the look.

You do not have to buy a new thing each time you have occasions to attend. See what you have at home already and work with them.

 
For today’s look, I did just that; I worked with what I already have to inspire the reader who sent me this request. Also this simple advise is ideal for that Fashion Blogger who thinks she can’t wear what she has worn before. Like I always say, it is not what you wear, it is how you wear what you wear. Please don’t spend the money you don’t have on clothes, save more, spend less especially on clothes. Learn the art of maximizing, it changes your wardrobe shelf life.

This look is also perfect for going to the Races. You can pair a dress like this with heels not this high or wedges and you are good to go

Motivation for Monday ::: Called to Serve

I mentioned above that we were called to serve with our gifts. A lot of us do not serve because we do not know we were called to serve or we feel we have not been blessed enough to give in service. Giving is not always monetary or the physical gift we can give. While giving could mean giving physical gift, it can also mean to share what we know with people who don’t know.

An act of service I just did is that I shared what I know with this sender. I took my time to style an outfit, photographed it and wrote a post to answer her request. This is an act of service that makes me happy for sharing what I know because people trust me enough and also one that would make the sender happy because her need has been met. I didn’t give her money but I gave her my time.

Service is not all about physical gift, it is all about impacting lives, giving when we can (material, monetary, encouragement, inspiration, time etc). Whatever it is you know how to do, please serve. In service, you grow, you meet a need or needs and you fulfil the purpose why you were called. 

Allow me leave you this quote from Gandhi and it says,”the best way to find yourself is to loose yourself in service to others”
