When Dolce & Gabanna created Abayas (long line tunics) and Hijabs in their last collection for the Muslim women who love luxury, I was super excited because the collection reminded me of where I came from.
Growing up in a muslim home, one of the things we wore a lot was tunics. We wore the long line ones, longer than the one I have on in this post and we wore the short ones too. Anything tunics, we wore. I loved the ones my grand ma brought back from Hajj, they were gorgeous.
Today, I bring you the long line tunic from day to night.
As a working mum, practicality, functionality and style in that particular order are a few of the things I consider before settling for any look. I ensure that my look if need be can take me from day to night.
This look book is one of my day to night styling.
Day Time Look
When you think day to night, you can think ideally of things like running errands, school run, post office run, shopping etc, so for my day time look, I paired my long line tunic with denim and sneakers.
To make the tunic dressed down, on trend and playful, I tied the hem of the tunic. I choose this white sneakers because it made the look super sleek. White is awesome even in trainers/sneakers. And hey, sneakers with anything goes these days…..See my wearing sneakers with an embroidered dress HERE
Night Time Look
I paired the long line tunic with denim and a pair of wild thing inspired heels by Aquazurra. I finished the look with an oversized clutch.
You would also notice that I didn’t roll up my sleeves for the night time look to make it sleek and “formal”. With this kind of blouse, you can eat as much without feeling guilty. I am a bad influence right?
Clutches are perfect for night time. If they are big enough but not delicate, they are perfect for day time too.
The tunics, whether long line or regular length ones, they are perfect from day to night. You can pair yours with heels or sneakers/flats.
Whatever you do, have fun pairing yours.
So tell me, which of the 2 looks would you spot and WHY? Would love to hear from you.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I am always very happy to see you stop by.
Wishing you a fantastic day today and God bless. The weekend has actually started in Dubia, did you know that?
Much Love, Mojisola.

Loving this a lot. Planning a similar look soon.
Thank you Stella. Oh yes, I will look out for that beautiful lady.
Much Love.
Gorgeous tunic, I didn’t know Dolce did that, very very cool! Those shoes are soooo so cute!
Thank you so much beautiful lady. YES, Dolce & Gabanna did a collection of Abayas and Hijabs, the collection were released last Jan ’16.
Take care and God bless.
This is a lovely look. It is so chic. Thanks for the style inspiration.

I love a good tunic!
Liking the blue pairings in this look too, good job!
Thank you Dana. Love your feedback.
Cheers.
What a beautifully crisp white tunic. Worn both ways it’s great. More importantly, where you found those heels. I purchased the Aquazzura pair back in January when I was still stuck and relaxing on the couch after surgery. The mind & an incredibly comfortable couch is never a good combo. I swear the couch made me purchase them.
I don’t want to know how much you paid for them, I just want to say they look great, you wear them well & I’m jealous you a few pennies.

Hi Shoshana,
I understand what the couch can make you do in a hurry. This pair, I got for a cover page shoot which hasn’t been released yet. We had a budget and I had to stick with it. They are from Primark, Primark is an equivalent of Macy’s or so in the US. Primark mimics high end fashion but with reduced quality.
If you bought the real deal, I think they will last longer. All the same don’t feel too bad and get well soon Sunshine. Much Love.
I love a good tunic and this one is fabulous!! Love both ways that you’ve styled them but I have to say the red heels are my favourite. I bet they are so much fun to wear!

Thank you Jackie. Yes, the heels are fun to wear. Do have a great weekend.
Cheers, Mojisola.
Big fan of the evening look for the simple reason that I’m only 5ft tall and wouldn’t give up my 5″ heels for anything in the world. I even wore them throughout my pregnancy 🙂 xo
The version with the slip on is my favorite. Such a simple and chic look and comfortable too. I just saw a tunic the other day on COS that I will love to style as well.
Thank you you Sade. I will look forward to you styling your own look.
Cheers.
