5 REASONS WHY TURTLE NECK IS A MUST IN YOUR WARDROBE

I know you have heard the saying, one size fits all. While this is not applicable to everything in life, it applies to turtleneck as a style piece. There is absolutely nothing you can’t wear a turtle neck with. You can pair it for layering with a dress, your can wear it with a skirt and you can wear it with pants / trousers. Today, I have some styling inspiration to show you why you need turtle neck in your closet / wardrobe….

1. For Layering in the Cold Season

We all know that one chunky knit won’t keep us warm in the colder months or Winter. To keep warm, layering is the way to go. Turtle neck is perfect for layering. As someone who hates cold, I wear 2 or 3 sometimes when it gets really good. So, get enough for your closet for colder months.

2. Easy to Tuck in Sleek

My favourite thing to tuck in is body suit because it easily tucks in sleek because something is pinning it down on the other side. However, if you have a well fitted turtleneck, it is also easy to tuck in. If you have a statement skirt that doesn’t need much to be done to it, turtle neck is a good option for you. The fact that they tuck in sleek is a bonus for having one or more in your closet / wardrobe

3. It is Easy to Style With Anything

Like I said above, you can pair your turtle neck with just anything. With skirts, pants / trousers, beneath a dungaree or pinafore or over a dress. One time, I actually paired a turtle neck over a dress. See it below in the mustard and yellow look….and I have done that over and over again, just secure it with a belt and you are good to go…..

4. Can be Worn in the Spring or “Warmer” Weather – Choose a Bright Coloured One or White / Cream

You can wear turtle neck in the Spring and in the Summer when it is not too hot. You can go for a light weight one or one with a delicate colour like white, blush or pink. Go for one whose colour won’t retain heat like the colour option mentioned earlier

5. When You Can’t Find a Blouse that Works, it Works.

Because turtleneck can tuck in nice and sleek and there are variety of colours of them, you can wear them with just anything. Anytime I buy a beautiful skirt and can’t find a blouse that works in the immediate, my go to would always be to style the look with a turtle neck, in a colour that matches the skirt….

As you can see from all the looks I have shared above, turtle neck goes for work, play, casually and for layering, in the Spring or Summer and to any wear you fancy really.

There are different types with different accents. For example, you would see above one with bell sleeves, also one with pearls on the sleeves and plain ones. Sincerely, on a day when you are not sure of what to wear, grab a turtle neck and style your look with it. It would look just fine 🙂

The possibility of your turtleneck is endless. Have fun styling yours whichever way you fancy. Turtlenecks are an essential in your wardrobe / closet. If you are buying your first one, black is a safe colour to start with, white is good too and then nude or one that matches your skin tone. You can then go ahead and buy more colours you fancy…
