I attended the Excel Women conference in London about 8days ago and sitting down in that conference, I couldn’t help but think about the price I paid to attend that conference. Not necessarily the monetary aspect of things but going out of my way to actually attend the conference. We had a family holiday planned so I went to England first for the conference and then back to Ireland and then back again on the road again with the family. It was a lot to deal with but hey, I did it. #Notcomplainingjust thankfulthatIcould.
As I sat down there at the conference with about 150+ women, I couldn’t but notice how expectant, “charged” and enthusiastic the women in there were, waiting to learn, connect and “fellowship” with one another. Today, on Motivation for Monday, I want to encourage you on what I call, what price will you pay for purpose?
Not sure I have shared this with you before but I have in a vision that in my 50’s, I want to travel round the world speaking encouragement and motivation to help empower and change people’s lives to be who they have been called to be. Although I do so now by blogs, videos and books, I consider what I do now small compare to the vision I have…..very big!
To speak round the world on a very large scale is a vision I have and with the help of God, it will come to pass. Not sure how that would happen but I will continue to say what I want to see till I begin to see it and also, I will keep working till I achieve that goal. Do pray for me too. Thank you.
One of the reasons why I also went to the conference was because of the guest speaker. I have been on YouTube since December of 2013 (my first video was 26th of December) and since then I have uploaded at least a video a week unfailingly. This was something I wanted to commit to and I haven’t failed. Thank God.
As a YouTube Creator, I have connected with so many people, both Subscribers and Creators from different parts of the world. One of the Creators I connected with via YouTube was Terri Sevelle Foy. Every week, I would watch her powerful motivation videos wrapped up with scriptures. I have a special connection / bond with Terri because she does exactly what I do. She shares powerful motivation, pulling from the scriptures. I connected with her after watching just 2 of her videos. However, Terri has a bigger platform and team. I have also taken advantage of most of her products because they are good and match my God given vision and dream…..some of the best investments I have made.
When I learnt Terri would be there, I prayed for provision to be able to attend and right before my very eyes, provision came for me. As you all know, London is very expensive, so in total, for tickets, accommodation, feeding and the event itself, I spent at about XXXeuros (above 500, less than 1000). A lot of money, yes but I would rather pay that price for purpose because I know how much it would change my life. So What price would you pay for purpose?
Money is the Least of All When it Comes to Purpose
A lot of times when there is a chance to learn to equip or empower yourself, a lot of us tend to look at the monetary aspect of it first. Unfortunately, in my humble opinion, when we think we can not get something, we would not get it. We become what we believe. Don’t get me wrong, I do not have a stash of money hidden in my wardrobe BUT for a purposeful event like this, I just had to pay the price. After the conference, I got even a clearer vision of where God wants me to go.
If you have to pay sacrificially to equip or empower yourself, do so, you will be glad you did. How would it make you feel if you move from where you are now to where you want to be in thoughts, reasoning, visions, ideas and more? How would it make you feel?
What Do You Want to Become?
Anyone who knows me knows that I do not hero worship anyone. I just don’t do it. I only worship God, the King of Kings and celebrate and honour people in high places. A lot may have attended the conference because of the person speaking there but I attended the conference because I do have a vision that looks like that of Terri. I have connected with her story, her messages and I know that what she does is exactly, what I am doing right now and would love to do more on a bigger scale in the near future….
When you have a vision, connect with people who do exactly that. Don’t copy them or aspire to be like them. BE YOU. Learn from them and prayerfully step out to start working on the vision you have in your hands.
Like you know already, I create this motivation blogs and videos because I have this big dream. I am not waiting around to start as big as I want to. I have started since a couple of years ago and growing by the day. The reason why I also wrote those books – Use What You Have and Create the Life You Want.
The vision is bigger than what it is now but for now, I am working on becoming how big I want to be. I have 2 books I am working on now – “While Still Unsure” and “Ideas Don’t Come Fully Formed”. Can’t wait to share them with you by God’s grace.
Dream is Free & Cheap, So Dream
A lot of us are afraid to dream. A lot of us dream but don’t dream big enough. Why won’t you dream when dreaming is cheap and free. A lot of us think of what others would think or say, so we play down our dreams or vision. A lot of us restrict or limit ourselves because we are afraid to stand out. A lot of us settle for less than God has called us to be because we just can’t take the bold step of faith. Dreaming is a price you have to pay for purpose. It is not enough to dream, you must take action as you expand on your dream.
Dream and dream big but continue to work until you become as big as you want. Like I said in point 2 above, I am working till I become the best version of me. Don’t watch me, join me 🙂
Sow Seeds
This one is exercising the law of reaping what you sow. I was very intentional about spending this amount of money on this conference because I know it is a seed. Attending this conference for me was sowing a seed because I know that some day, I would hold a conference like this one and much more.
If you can, sow a seed for a vision you have in the life of other people, events or conferences. It would come back to you. When you sow good seeds, God increases it in your life.
PS: Since this blogs, I have hosted “Use What You Have Life Masterclass in Lagos Nigeria”, “Good Success” Conference for Leaving Cert Students and I have taught “YouTube Leveraging & Masterclass”. You must dream and then go out there to achieve it. You can do this, yes YOU!
No Easy Route to Purpose
The easy route can also be known as short cut. For everyone who has become who they were made to be, they have paid the price – monetary, time wise, and committing and dedicating time to learn the things they need to learn and doing the things they need to do.
There is no one person who is genuinely successful be it in business or career that hasn’t paid the price. Nobody gets lucky but are prepared when opportunity finds them.
The KEY to becoming purposeful is to Keep Equipping Yourself. Pay the price for there is no short cut to purpose. So I ask again, what price would you pay for purpose?
Finally, whatever you do, do what you have to fulfil your own purpose in life. Purpose is simply defined as the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists. You exist to fulfil a purpose here on earth so, don’t slip on it 🙂

I want to thank you so much for stopping by today and for reading. Keep paying that price for purpose and you will be surprised that in due season, your reward will come.
I believe in you and I know you were born to be great and to fulfil your purpose in life. All the very best.
Love always, Mojisola

Hang in there Cara. You can’t give up now. You’ve come too far to give up. Be sure to speak with someone if need be. And prayer works, PRAY! Praying for you…
Do take care.
