Mixing print on print or pattern on pattern is one of my favourite things to do when it comes to styling. Another is mixing delicate fabrics with tough fabrics to create balance or juxtapositions.
Today, let’s focus on mixing print on print. I have also decided to move Motivation for Monday down to the bottom of the post because some people are only here to read fashion and style and not motivation. If you read my motivation, please read it below. I thank you for reading.
Now back to fashion !
Like I said above, mixing print on print is one of the style factors I love. Sometimes I like to do it subtle and sometimes I like to do it bold. If I do say so myself, my look today is my subtle choice of mixing print.
I am playing with two fun prints today (grid on the dress & houndstooth on the coat ).
The print on the dress is not as bold as the one on the coat which makes them easy to blend together. They are also both black and white which is always my go to. A pop of colour will be ideal if you want to. I like minimal and that’s me. Fashion is meant to be fun so do what makes you happy and never be sorry for it. That is being IN TOUCH with you.
I finished my look with a black pair of tights to keep the look classy and weather appropriate and finished the look with a patent leather heels.
Talking about pairing my look with black tights, I want to SHARE a fashion TIP with you. I apologise for my ripped pantyhose/tights. It got ripped on set and I didn’t have a spare one to wear for the shoot so we continued with the photos. I included the photo because of the TIP I wanted to share with you. My promise to you is to learn something new every time you stop by and I intend to keep it that way.
If you want to create the illusion of longer legs, wear the same colour of panty hose / tights as your shoes and your legs will look instantly longer. I know you may say but you have long legs already, the tights made them look even longer as you can see. They are also well accentuated : see the curve on my calf. Describe it one one word. Me, sexy !
OTHER Fashion TIP(s) today | A few TIPS on how to mix PRINTS.
1, If the colours look good together, the prints will look good together. For e.g black and white go with everything. You can mix black and white print with another black and white print like I did with this look.
2, The simpler the graphic is, the better it is to mix. What I mean is the smaller the size of design of your print the easier it will be to match with another print.
3, Spread your print across your look. For example, if you look in the mirror and you feel like a flower, take off one item of print and replace it with a plain one. You can also wear your print on your shoes if it is too much on your body.
4, You can tone your print down with a solid colour. For example, with the look I have on, I can throw on any solid colour (red, blue etc). See here for a print on print look I missed with a solid colour.
5, The most important tip is if you are comfortable with what you are wearing. Go for it. Fashion is supposed to be fun.
Here’s Motivation for Monday !
To many of us, the perfect time is when we have everything we ever desired or wanted. In most cases having all that we desire or hope for doesn’t always happen. Not that it is impossible, it just does not happen for many of us.
It doesn’t happen because the human needs are insatiable. The moment you get what is it you are looking for, you are out about looking for another. Am I wrong ?
Because there is no such thing as a perfect time, it is always best to avail of every opportunity that comes your way or for us to start with what we have.
It may sound cliche but I like to tell my story because I know it better. A long time ago when I was contemplating starting content creation online (You tube and this blog ). I came up with more than 50million reasons why I couldn’t start. Things like who is going to take my blog photos, how do I joggle it with work, I don’t think people will like it and even things like what will people think : An “old woman” like me taking photos about on the street.
A moment came when I made up my mind and I started where I was. I didn’t know anything about blogging or You tube and I didn’t have a photographer. It was just the WILL to start that I had. I prayed, I encouraged myself and I took the bold step of starting.
One night, I joined a fashion campaign to raise money for less privilege people when I met my photographer. I went to her and said I was looking for a photographer who could take my blog photos. She said, that will be nice. She gave me an appointment, we meet up and amazingly, she said I will take you for the first few months for free. That left me WHOA !
That wouldn’t happen if I didn’t take that bold step of faith. She is been my photographer ever since then. She is awesome. I also have a strong support system, YES, you reading this blog because without you, I wouldn’t be doing all that I am doing and all that I have had the opportunity to do.
What am I saying
In life when we want to take bold steps to do what we love or what we want to achieve, a little voice in our hearts/head/mind will keep telling us we can’t do it, we can’t be it or we can’t achieve it. That little voice is called FEAR !
I am saying to you today not to listen to that negative voice because whenever there is a WILL, there is always a WAY. You may not know where you are going but set out to go, trust me, you will find your way. If you get lost, ASK. There will always be someone who will be wiling to help. Believe it or not, God is the best director, ask him and He will answer.
What is that bold step you’ve always wanted to take, now is the time because there is no such thing as a perfect time. Start today, start where you are, start with what you have and when you start, don’t stop.
By the grace of God, this blog is doing great and I can’t wait to share her PHENOMENAL days with you……..MOTIVATIONFORMONDAY.
If you are interested, please read all about how I started without knowing nothing and how far I have come here
So don’t be afraid to mix print on print. Have fun with it and you never can tell what you will come up with.
And if there is something you’ve always wanted to do, do not be afraid, go ahead and do it. You will be surprised with what you can do if you try.
As always, I want to thank you for stopping by today. I am always very happy to see you here.
Wishing you a good day today and God bless you with his love and favour.
Much Love, Mojisola.

Cara, we are never be too old to do anything or be anything we want to be. It is left to us to silent the negative voices around us and do what we really want to do. It is when we do what we want to do that we can be who we want to be. Yes, nobody is too old to achieve anything. Love you girl and take care of you, do what you want to do and your hard work will bring you where you want to get. Thank you also for stopping by as always.
Much Love to you

Great words from your motivational Mondays! I’m always trying to silence that negative voice in my head, but I know that its just my own fear and insecurities poking thru. I’m learning to not let them stop me from moving forward in life.
