Nearly every week, I change the DP on my WhatsApp with snap shot of feedback(s) I get from different people who have come in contact with my work. A lot of times, it is some sort of testimonial or feedback saying, “how much what I do has helped them” or “how my book has helped them” or “how a course I created has helped them” or “how a post I wrote on Facebook or somewhere else has helped them” etc. I personally do this to remind myself of how far I have come on my journey and how much impact I make daily with what I do but most importantly as a reminder to be thankful to God for giving me the gifts I use to make such an impact.
Today, on Motivation for Monday, I want to encourage you on “How to Know If You Fulfilling Your Purpose”……….
What is Purpose?
Purpose simply means the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.
Please know that
We have all been created for a purpose.
We are not just here to populate the earth or here to be a part of statistics
We were made for a reason
Individual Purpose: We achieve this by using our unique God Given Gift to serve the people we have been called to serve.
What Does it Mean to be Purposeful?
To be purposeful simply means to have a useful purpose. To be intentional. Doing purposeful activities. When we are purposeful, it means we are:
1. Spending everyday of our lives doing what we have being called to do or working on being that person. E.g if you have been called to be a writer for example, you should spend your time, money and resources to be that person.
There is no point trying to be a Caterer if where you find joy is caring for people. Doing this would make you get frustrated, tired and then eventually, you are likely to give up.
When you spend every day doing what you are passionate about. It saves you time and helps you arrive at your destination of greatness on time.
For example, I love writing and if I don’t write for a long time, I feel empty, kind of unfulfilled. So the fulfilment I get is writing posts or blogs that helps other people. Using my gift of writing to help people simply means, I am fulfilling a purpose of helping others with my writing.
What Does it Mean to be Fulfilling Purpose?
Every time you are “slacking” on doing what you are supposed to do about your GIFTS, ask yourself, what is the point in knowing something and not doing it? What is the point? And then, pick yourself up and get on track. I believe in you and know you can do this.
We all can fulfil our purpose in life by aligning ourselves to do exactly what we have been called to do. When we are intentional that come what may, we will do whatever we must do to run the race God has designed for our lives, we will FULFIL OUR PURPOSE.
Fulfilling purpose could mean:
1. Changing lives doing what we were called to do. Making Impact. Influencing others positively.
2. Contributing to our community, to our society, to a group of people, nation or a tribe in our own little way in whatever aligns with our purpose by using our God given gifts
3. Getting feedbacks or testimonials because we are working in purpose.
For example, when I wrote “Use What You Have”, I got so many messages / feedbacks / testimonials from so many people saying how much the book helped them and changed their lives in the area of their gifts. That made me happy and simply, it means, I am fulfilling my purpose…. because I wrote that book.
4. When people say, BECAUSE OF YOU, I was able to do this or I was able to do that or I was able to achieve that, YOU are fulfilling purpose.
Trust me, with your gifts you can help so many people and from different parts of the world too.
The journey to fulfilling purpose starts with taking just on step and another and another for the rest of your life. It is meeting needs. It is helping others. It is creating solutions to other people’s problems by using your GOD GIVEN GIFTS.
Can I ask you this? How would it make you feel if people say, “because of you”, my life changed?
Guess What, it would be an incredible feeling. Not just for you BUT for your Father in heaven, because He would be happy that you are using your Gift to help others just like He wants you to do here on earth.
Finally, your God Given Gift is God’s gifts to you. Now, what you do with your Gifts is YOUR OWN GIFT BACK to God, your Father. You don’t want to disappoint Him, do you?
Now, go ahead and fulfil purpose. I BELIEVE IN YOU.
