As a Blogger (Fashion Blogger), a lot of people see my life as perfect. WHY? Let me speak from the angle of clothes….. When people (especially people back at home) see the “fine photos” I share featuring those “fine clothes”, they automatically assume that I have it all. Although I am very grateful for where I am, behind the scenes of how I got here is what nobody knows but me……
Today on Motivation for Monday, I want to encourage you on what I call behind the scene.
Currently, I share a minimum of 3 blogs a week and my vision is to actually blog everyday. Until I am able to do that, I will keep working behind the scene. Allow me go back a little…..
When I launched the Blog and YouTube Videos in March of 2014, I invested in / bought a DSLR (camera), some lights, some storage device and a few other things from my redundancy money to help me kick start my journey. Unfortunately, I didn’t buy a new lap top because I couldn’t pay for it from my budget after doing every other thing + I needed to keep some money away from that redundancy money because I had other plans for it. Fast forward to the 4th of Jan 2017, I walked into a supermarket and bought a brand new MAC I paid for in cash from the money I made from this blog…..
In case you don’t understand what I mean, I mean I kept using my “crap” laptop to vlog and blog and I continued like that till I was able to buy a brand new lap top from the money I made from this blog. As hard as using that crap lap top was for me, I kept working with it, behind the scene and nobody saw it BUT me. However, I knew that for me to be able to pay €1500.00 for a brand new lap top, I had to keep working behind the scene…….The story is longer than this BUT allow me stop here. It would be a story for another day which I would love to share with you real soon.
Before I share that long tale, I would mention that, I had people who constantly told me that my videos always skipped. The editing wasn’t perfect and all that nonsense “naysayers” say to people who try to do something good for themselves; but I shunned all that “nonsense noise” and focused. I am grateful indeed that my production quality is better than ever and it would get better, please God.
You see in life, what we do behind the scenes is what determines what we become. The price we pay behind the scenes is what helps us get to where we want to be in life. Those tears we cry in the night when nobody sees us is our behind the scenes and truly, God sees those tears and He rewards us.
Are you starting out anything? Are you struggling to make ends meet? Are you launching a blog or vlog just like I did 3+ years ago? Are you still thinking of taking that leap of faith to do something good for yourself but are afraid that the quality may not be good? Whatever it is, what you do in front of people is not what would set you up for success but what you do behind the scenes…..

In this 3-minutes video, I shared more on WHY Behind the Scenes is what sets us up for Success. Please Watch…..
If it makes you feel better, I still do not have it all, I am still on the journey of growth BUT I am happy to announce that God has brought me from redundancy to His marvellous light. These days, people who work in jobs they are not happy with consult me to teach them how to thrive online, brands write to me to send me products, businesses wants me to write for them; I was happy to write for a university here in Ireland just 2 weeks ago; working class women fly me out to style them; and many more great things that I will share with you real soon, not to boost but to bring GLORY to our God who rewards the work we do behind the scenes………..
I say these all the time, every time you stop by this blog, I want you to go away with something that would motivate you be it Fashion or Styling TIPS or Motivation as this one. If you haven’t gained anything from this post till this moment, please take these 5 TIPS away:
1, Your ideas are valid and it is not what you do in front of people that moulds you for success but the price you pay behind the scenes.
2, You must be ready to make crazy sacrifices.
3, You MAY loose friends. Almost inevitable. WHY? Not everyone would understand your purpose or would support you.
4, You may not see any results in a short time BUT they will come if you do not go weary in doing good / working hard.
5, Surround yourself with good people who have a purpose and dreams (positive people). If you can’t find any, be your own biggest Cheerleader.
6, You can be a success story.

Thank you so much for reading and for letting me share with you always.
Keep working “behind the scenes”, your reward would come.
Cheers.
Thank you Moji, the behind the scene can sometimes be overwhelming especially when the result is not as visible as you would want it, so I have learnt that for you keep working behind the scene, you must have a good support system. Thanks for sharing
Thank you Ope for reading. I totally get what you mean. However, in life, persistence is what defines those who wait a little longer than those who quit even when there is no result to show for what we are doing.
Persistence: continuing firmly or obstinately in an opinion or course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition.
More so, a lot of times, we do not have people who cheer us on to go for gold, so we have to learn to be our own cheerleader especially when we DO KNOW CLEARLY what we want to achieve or what we can achieve.
Appreciate your feedback. Thank you for writing it here on the blog. Keep keeping on beautiful and I will be doing the same.
Cheers.
Very encouraging Moji. People just do not understand the amount of work that I put into blogging. Ridiculous amount of time too. LOL! All they see are the clothes you wear. I just pray that all my effort will become fruitful one day. A lot of behind the scene efforts.
Hi Sade, thanks for reading.
I know right. People don’t see behind the scenes, they only see the finished product 🙂
My dear sister, you are doing great. Keep up the good work. Many good things are on the way. I sent you a message on your gmail. I hope you got it. If not please check your spam. There is an information there for you.
Cheers
I really like this post. I found it so motivating. Always ignore the naysayers and do you. No one sees the behind the scenes sacrifices.
Thanks Stella. Behind the scene for a Blogger is not rice and beans, you know this already, so
Cheers
