I believe very much in having clear vision for your goals. I do, because when we are sure of exactly what we want or what we want to achieve, it is almost impossible or usually hard for anything; people, circumstance or situation to easily make us quit on that goal. A lot of times when we are about to quit or give up because of one set back or the other, the end picture of that goal we have on our minds or heads always reminds us and drives us back to that goal. However when we don’t have a clear vision, once the wind blows left; a.k.a, a challenging situation, we quit……
I have also learnt that a lot of us quit too soon. We have this idea, we kick start it with drive and passion but somehow, we manage to quit too soon. However, failure is not in slow progress, failure is when we quit because we think we can never get the result we want or desire. And this is why it is very important to always have the end result of what we want to achieve in mind.
End results and clear vision means the same thing. The end result in our minds is what will drive us, push us or guide us to the goal; it is like energy. We all know Hussien Bolt, one of the fastest men alive or even the fastest man alive if you like. He says, “his determination to win always makes him build his energy till he wins”. His Determination = clear vision. To build his energy means he starts slow always. If you have ever watched any of his races, he always starts slow, yet he wins all the time. How does he do it?
1, He has a clear vision.
Like I said above, he knows already he wants to win; he then starts slow and then builds his energy up as he progresses. Same should be applicable to our own goals too. Have a clear vision and then start, this is the most important thing. To reach the goal, you have to start. It doesn’t matter how slow, keep progressing by building energy/momentum.
2, Tough Times will come
This is another reason why a lot of us give up. I said above that when the “wind blows to the left”, a lot of us quit. Back to Hussien, we have seen a lot of times that when he runs, he sometimes have muscle pull BUT he continues running anyways because he has a clear vision, he wants to win. The muscle pull can be tackled later. No matter what the muscle pull you have on your journey, never give up. No don’t.
3, Be Persistent. Be Consistent.
Persistent they say will help you get it. Consistency will make you keep it. Don’t stop running till you get it. You will eventually get it even if your progress is slow. When you do, be consistent and you will get more.
Don’t forget, start with the end result in mind. What do you want? How do you think you can achieve it? Prayerfully start with the end picture in mind and whatever happens, don’t quit. Remember, slow progress will get you there. Keep moving.
I pray God’s speed and favour for you.
