I belong to a group that gives money advice daily. The owner of the group teaches on how to build wealth. In other words, she teaches on how to make money but most importantly, how to ensure that you keep the money. You know making money and keeping the money you make are two different things right? It is possible to make money and not keep it. It is when we keep the money we make that we can build wealth. However, life happens sometimes which can make us need emergency funds like paying for a car engine to be fixed. In this case, what do we do? Some take online loans from Northcash Loans and some pay for the repairs from their savings?
I have also come to realise that not everyone that borrows money is in a financial mess. Some people borrow money from banks / credit society / Northcash Loans to build their credit. It is to show on record that they pay back when they borrow money. This kind of “borrowing-routine” is always a good reference for when you are buying a mortgage or borrowing big loans for big projects from the banks. Although I am not in any way a finance major / “guru” or in any position to teach about money matters. However, I have taken a Module in Finance for Non Finance Managers which includes Budgeting to help me manage my money well + I am a Fashion Blogger and people automatically think I spend millions on clothes when they see me. From my little financial knowledge, here are some common sense lessons I can confidently share with you:
1, Don’t Spend all You Earn
It is important to keep money away each time you make money. My mother would say, “if you make €100.00 and you can’t keep at least €10.00 from it, when you make €1000.00, it will be hard to keep any of it. Habits are hard to break.
2, Have a Savings Account
So you do not spend all you earn, open a savings account and keep your money in it. It is a savings account, use it for savings 🙂
3, Life Can Happen
Like I said above, life can truly happen when we would need to pay emergency bills. If you do not create the habit of putting money away, you will always have to borrow. Unfortunately, you may not find anyone to borrow / lend you money. Everyone has their thing to deal with.
4, Learn to Make More Money
Learn to turn what you know to cash. If you know how to make hair, make hair and charge people for it. If you know how to bake cakes, bake cakes and charge people for it. In the real world, people like to get everything for free. Create boundaries and make money from what you know how to do.
5, Build Wealth
You know how I like to teach on clear vision. Have a vision of how much you want to make in a month and in a year and how you want to make it, work towards that goal and achieve it. This will be handy for your future. I also know that my finance teacher taught me that money today will be more valuable than money tomorrow. Instead of just saving the money, you can also invest in things that can yield more money, for e.g. buy a house etc.
So How Much do Fashion Bloggers Spend on Clothes?
Beneath the glitz and glam, many Fashion Bloggers just like any other person have financial commitments; they pay bills, they pay mortgage, some have children and we all know children are not cheap to raise. An average Fashion Blogger spend relatively “some amount” of money on clothes especially when they only blog fashion BUT most “established” Bloggers get paid (in cash or kind) to wear clothes from brands. I am grateful indeed for all the brands who partner with us; by the way, it took a lot of work to get here. YEP!
Although some Bloggers get “free stuff”, a lot of them work their way up to that level. One size does not fit all in the fashion blogging world; Bloggers have it different. For anyone who thinks Fashion Blogging is all about buying clothes and taking pictures, you may want to think twice because it is not just that. There is so much more to Fashion Blogging than taking beautiful photos and “slapping” them unto a blog; Fashion Bloggers + any other kinds of Bloggers work hard on concepts, answering requests for styling, photographing, PR, SEO, techy bits, then writing blogs to help and meet people’s needs but most importantly doing what they love………….
A lot of Fashion Bloggers also sell what they don’t need anymore to buy what they need. They reduce, reuse and recycle. If you like, some of them “sell some to buy some”. Hope that answers the mysterious question of how much Bloggers spend on clothes? If you are scared of being a Fashion Blogger because you think you need so much money and so many clothes to keep up with the “well established bloggers”, No, you don’t. You just have to know what you are doing + focus on you and your vision for blogging (let that vision not be to get free stuff) + be ready to work hard; it will get better. Some day, I will write about the business of blogging………
Those are some of my wealth building tips and some of the things I practice myself + the answer to the mysterious question on how much do Fashion Bloggers spend on clothes.
I want to thank you so much for stopping by and for reading.
